I used to be very big (weight: 120kg) and had problem finding clothes that fit, then i lost all weight (weight: 55kg) yet still had same problem finding fitting clothes.

I live in US and my us size on pants size slim fit 34waist / 31 length yet when i try them on it looks very weird:

Note that its i wear them just bellow my belly button and pants are either too long or/and gap between my package and pants is huge, when i sit down in the bus i look like an idiot.

Now if i wear them above belly button then length and gap looks perfect,

however i also look like an idiot if i say put shirt inside my pants like this:

I'd have to wear pants on the level i marked with red line.

If i try say size 34/30 length will be too short and i will still have same problem with gap between pants and my package.

Maybe its my legs or my belly button is too low i don't know how to tell.
What is the problem and what should i do, i cannot afford custom tailoring my clothes i am tired of looking like idiot.

Oh where to start.

You're 55kg and wear 34" pants? With 31 inseam?????????????????????

You live in the US and you've heard of kg?

You've never pulled up your pants before?

If the pants size is correct, then the problem likely is a short rise.

This can't possibly be correct.

For the North Americans .. 55 kg is 120 pounds. Are you sure you need a 34" waist? I can't imagine what body shape would be required to wear anything more then a 30" waist at 120 lbs.

I'm 5'11 and wear a 31x32 .. and weigh 68 kg.

Maybe post a real picture of your body shape. I'd be fascinated to see it.

If you really are indeed that body shape .. I really don't think you'll find clothes of the shelf that will fit. Don't worry about the inseam, find pants that you like in the waist/drop .. and get them hemmed. Really, I don't think ANYONE makes a 34x31 that isn't made for some really short super fat person.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I have some friends who've also lost a large amount of weight. Is it possible that you are having a hard time due to extra skin left after the weight loss? (I don't mean to be indelicate.) That may cause you to have a hard time with jeans. Each company will offer a wide array of cuts- try lots of different styles from each brand. It seems like you need low-rise jeans. Levi's 527 are low rise, but boot cut jeans will flair a bit at the bottom. Just go try on 30 pair of jeans until you find something that works and have a tailor adjust the legs and waist if needed.
Good luck.

You need pants with a low rise.
Often these vary from 10" to 12".
Get a measuring tape and find a pair closer to 10"
Mabitex has a low rise.
+1 find pants that have a shorter rise, then have them hemmed to fit perfectly on the length.

I think he's 80kg now? from what i understand which would be ~176lbs, which 33-34 waist can sound reasonable

hmm, I'm a 34x30 and I don't consider myself super short at 6' or super fat at 175lbs.

guess I'm wrong

imschatz comment about pant size is a bit over the top. But It's the internet, where having thick skin is mandatory. Put it on :)

You do seem to have difficult dimensions. At 6 foot, I'd expect a longer inseam of 32 or more. It seems unusual to be 34 waist, 6', and 175 pounds. Respectfully, I ask; Do you have a pot belly/beer gut? If not, perhaps it comes down to where you think pants should be sitting on your waist vs where the rest of the world thinks they should be sitting. Based on your first post, I think it's possible you're doing something "wrong" so to speak. It's likely that your internal image of yourself is inaccurate (e.g. when you feel your waistline is high, others see it as normal).

Find a close friend and ask for their advice, someone who knows your body type. Or post photos and we can help here.

If you were super fat for a long time, then you probably had to wear your pants in a position where a thin person would not normally wear them. Maybe you got used to that and now the normal waistline feels/looks weird.

no offense here, but its a bit of a silly statement. That said, I'm not the op and i have no problem finding pants. I wear a 34x30 in the BB milano, as well as slimmer offerings by PRL, howard yount, etc.

It's a little hard to provide sound advice based on a sketch that Simon would have been ashamed to put on his magic chalkboard. However, something about it echoes with my own experience since losing some weight (though much less) this year, so I will try.

As some others have suggested, you need to find lower-rise trousers. Something with narrower hips would also help. I have a different body shape from the egg-with-legs you drew, but having quite narrow hips I have had similar problems. My waist is now 32, but my torso is basically a uniform 32" from my navel all the way to the top of my butt. If I was cursed with a flat ass my pants might fall right off me (I exaggerate only slightly). Trousers that look okay when worn at the theoretical "natural waist" inevitably fall down several inches, leaving the whole look "off". That's where the lower rise helps.

However, that's not enough if I take your sketch at face value. Many brands that people here tout as "slim" are indeed slim through the legs, but still balloon slightly in the hips, as even most "slim" men have hips that are wider in cross-section than their waist and need to be accommodated. I'm thinking for example of PRL, which I have found are good in the rise and leg, but too wide in the hips for for me at my proper waist size.

BB Milano trousers seem to be okay on this front. They're not my ideal (I think they're still made more for your stereotypical pancake-assed WASPy man, and they are also a little tight in the thigh for me) but are the best OTR that I have found for the particular issues I'm trying to balance.

It's somewhat ironic, because I hate the "SLIM SLIMMER SLIMMESTEST!!!" look that the Milano is a response to. But beggars can't be choosers.

Which part was silly? Perhaps my wording was unclear. 34x30 is an easy to find pant size. I was suggesting that being 6 foot tall, weighing 175 pounds, and wearing that size pant is NOT common.
