Now this might not be everyone's cup o' tea but I was a HUGE 80's skate rat. If you haven't noticed in most of my photos I have a 1988 white McGill deck hanging on my wall. I still collect old-school 80's skateboard gear so when I stopped by UO in Philly last night I was syked to see this awesome shirt waiting for me:

Except for the "modern fit" stretchy shirt, it is a true repro unlike the new school alternatives Powell started releasing a couple of years ago. These even say "Powell Peralta" and not just "Powell" and are little logo on the front, big logo on the back - it's like 1986 all over again!!!

I grabbed it in the store for $36 but checked their website today to find out they also carry the Mike McGill and PP Dragon shirts as well as the ripper and they are all on sale!!!

I ordered the other two just now (use promo code STUDENT to get 10% off) and honestly these are my absolute favorite purchase so far this year!

I was never much of a skater, but I wanted to jump in on the Philly thread. Just 'cause.

Glad you guys like it! I was tired of searching ebay for $100 shirts from the 80's that won't fit right anway.

I had to buy the ripper on the spot. When I was a kid I had that shirt in blue, black and pink! I'm thinking about ordering a second one just in case something happens to the one I bought last night!

aah it just wouldn't be a Philly thread without you Sauce! BTW, per your suggestion I tried to stop by Matthew Izzo last night as well but I should have double-checked what time they closed - just missed 'em!

That was my first time shopping on Walnut - it's a very cool place! That type of shopping area is completely missing from Baltimore (all we have are malls in the burbs) and it's one of those things that make Philly, NYC or DC that much more of a "real city" compared to Bmore.

when you live in philly though, you just resent cities like new york and boston. those 4-5 blocks on walnut and chestnut are basically all we got. there's a cool new streetwear place off market and a decent vintage store on south but that's about it.

OMG! I wanted that Bones shirt so bad when I was a kid, I used to draw that all over all my notebooks and stuff. I really might have to get one of these.
