No, but I wasn't exactly expecting to shell out 300~ USD for a bloody jacket from Nike.

For some reason all my Nike purchases feel like a hostage negotiation. They have the jacket I want but they won't let it go for less than 500 unless I want a poor fit with questionable quality and then MAYBE they'll drop the floor price down to 300.

Again, Nike has a plethora of Nike jackets that go for that much before the Gyakusou collab. The most expensive jacket is actually just $320 (maybe it's more in EU or whichever website version you are looking at?) so it really is within reason price-wise for a collab that tends to have mark-ups. You can always risk waiting for it to go on sale but most probably won't last long enough from this collab. MrPs stock is dwindling down pretty quick.

At least that is much cheaper than TBS price, I think they have the Lunarspeed at ~$200+ iirc. Even with the VAT removed it's still cheaper at MrP at $130 and no risk of customs (if you're in the US that is).

fwiw I got my gyakosou gear from tresbien at a very good price with the 15% code and minus 20% vat, which I believe came to less than most decent quality running gear I can find here. What I don't understand is why mrporter seems to think that asking 200 euros more than most retailers for the same gear is cool.

So I am guessing MrPs Euro website charges more? Because the US MrP website charges less than what Nike prices them in their website.

As for quality, I touched up on this in an earlier post but I rarely complain about Nike products, I sweat and beat them to hell and wash every week and they last for years, I probably have to switch up compression shirts every year or two? I do have about 5-7 in rotation but I wash them weekly still (feels terrible wearing it again after you sweat on it and it dried). SO the Gyakusou will likely be the same, if not better, quality. And it seems like it does look and fit better (better or more fit I guess) than the typical Nike gear.

The only qualms I have with Nike is the quality on their retro Jordans, the shoes comes pre-creased sometimes. I mean I'd wear them and they'd crease anyways but it is due to simply crappy materials and the fact that they keep increasing the price every year.

Depends on the retro. WC4's were exceptional, whereas the Olympic VI's were downright brutal. My pre-release black/red IV's are solid as well.

I haven't handled current retroes because I stopped buying but the last few pairs I bought were subpar and the prices only keeps on climbing. They also keep altering things, little things that make a difference like the shade of the color or cut of certain things.

They are definitely hit or miss. With regards the alterations, unfortunately that's something we the customer have to live with. Trust me, it KILLS me to have to wear 4's with a Jumpman on the back but unfortunately the '99 retros are basically unwearable at this point.

On the positive side, the black/blue 1's that come out in 2013 look to be impeccable.

Power Walking In Leaf Print

Fancy

Nike faithful and #menswear converts have already gone ape **** over the Gyakusou collection, but now some of the pieces have finally arrived at online retailers like this leaf-print running jacket. Note carefully: leaf print, not "leaf camo," alright? Now that we've gotten semantics out of the way let's talk about how ******* cool this thing is. Arguably the best piece in the collection, forget the fact that it's a $300 paper thin jacket and focus on its redeeming qualities like the ever useful thumb holes and LEAF PRINT! It's a worthy investment even if you're only gonna power walk down the block to cop a six-pack at the bodega.

I don't know what the **** that guy is on, first he's saying a perfectly fine uniqlo lounge fit fits awful now he's spewing this bullshit. Pay no mind.

Anyways, got the running jacket in and it's pretty ******* sick I must say. Quality is excellent for gym gear, robust construction, perfect fit in size large, nice little details like hidden zipper on the size and collar zipper tab. I first balked at the price but **** me it's well worth 115 bucks.

No it means you're a fat-ass.
Nike typically sizes their clothes two sizes larger than they should be. What do you wear in European sizes, a 58?
