6x3x3 uline box shipped usps First Class. Roll the tie up to fit in the box.

Or, you can do like I do. Place two pieces of white tissue paper in a Uline tie gift box. Carefully fold the tie. Wrap a piece of white ribbon around the tie and tie it in a bow. Place the secured tie in the tissue-lined tie box. Carefully, fold the tissue over the tie securing it with a small "Thank You" adhesive sticker. Tape both ends of the tie box to keep it together. Place the tie box in a white poly Uline bubble mailer. Will almost always weigh between 6 and 7 ounces. Ship it USPS First Class. It will get there just as quick as Priority with less money invested and you still get free tracking.

I noticed this as well - seems from this post he's having some rough personal issues, the part about his life being in danger in the linked post is concerning:

I have a question about shipping.

I have a VERY large Real antler Chandelier.

It is larger than it looks. It is 37 inches wide and 32 inches tall. These are real antlers and there electrical sockets, so it's pretty fragile. I'm trying to figure out how to ship it. Should I just over it in bubble wrap put it in a huge box, fill it with packing peanuts and insure the heck out of it? The offer I am considering is BIG $$$, so I don't want to eat it if something goes bad.

Any ideas?

Take it to the UPS Store and make them pack it and buy the full insurance.  They like to deny your insurance claim if they didn't pack it.

I definitely know about them denying claims.  I am fighting with UPS right now over something I sent to @SpooPoker  I packed the heck out of some wine glasses.  I bought a heavy duty double walled box, lined the whole thing with bubble wrap, bought a special glass shipping divider, wrapped each one in bubble wrap and filled all the open cavities with packing peanuts.   They still said there was some sort of deficiency in the packing.   Total bullshit.  They just beat the hell out of the box.  I did buy the insurance, but they denied it.

Lesson learned?  Don't ship with UPS.

I would check with uship.com. I sent a very big fragile item thru them, which the buyer arranged - i just had to pack it real well and wait for the shipper to show up.

This should get interesting.

Some guy bought a NWT item from me this morning.  Got his paypal 20 mins ago.

Went back to my place (lunch hour) to see my first scheduled pickup haven't left, so I quickly saw his note of taking off the tag and complied (partly, only took out the price tag, but left the OEM tag on there).  Saw his request to lower the declaration value and ignored that and declared his buying price.

Let's see what sort of bitching ensues.  I bold-faced the fact that I absolutely will not declare a lowered amount on the item description (because a: i don't want to get in shit, b: i don't want to be out a few franklins if it gets lost and i don't have full insurance coverage)

+1 Have UPS (or FedEx) pack the item for you and fully insure it. Only way to be sure. I would also list it on craigslist. Sold on in SoCal a few years ago for good money pretty quick and much easier then shipping.

I was reluctant to make a public thing out of this and I even sought out some advice from a few about how to bring this up.   But, I have sent several PMs and several messages on ebay.   I sent them over the course of weeks -- even giving him more than a month to respond.   But,. I sent money and haven't heard squat about it and haven't received the coat I bought.  I hope he is doing okay and I am worried. But, apparently others are not getting any responses either.

Someone here has to know his name (from shipping maybe?) and can look him up?

With everything laid out it doesn't look good... :/ hope he's alright.

If you read the negative feedback, he's shipped to them since he's posted on here. They complained about how long it took to ship but did receive.
