Neat idea, let me make sure I'm inferring correctly.  Are the foam boards different color that you'll velcro to the wall, or will you pin different color sheets to them, then velcro to the wall?

They're white foam boards. Think the ones you did school projects on. The Velcro is removable so it shouldn't mess with the paint much. Will post a shot once I set it up

I hear ya, I have a rack of clothes in our guest bedroom, our 2nd kitchen ("in-law" style upstairs when we bought the house) has turned into a shipping center, and a wall in my office has turned to the photo area. Got the mannequin in the mail yesterday, went shopping in my basement today for some ghetto college lamps and a black table. What you can't see is behind one of the lights I had taken a painting down, pulled out the nail which brought some drywall with it, only to realize I don't have anymore matching paint in the basement. In hindsight I should have just tapped the damn nail into the wall.

You will have to pay final value fees if you end it. And you'll piss off a lot of people.

I like how people complain about people retracting bids while this is retracting an auction

Looks like shell from here! End and relist. You won't be able to change the listing title since you have bids and it want get the exposure you need.

When you crease leather, you'll see wrinkles. Shell doesn't wrinkle, it just bends. It looks like shell to me.

I don't see the problem here. Yeah he didn't do his research, but one of the reasons for ending an auction is "Error in the listing", which there is if he listed as lambskin. Big difference between someone placing a bid, which is the first/starting bid and retracting it with the reason being that they "entered the wrong amount"(which happened to me this week). If you're going to list on ebay without doing the proper research, I don't see anything wrong with people being opportunistic, but if you realize you've made a mistake, I don't have a problem with you fixing it.

This is really no different than the item I ended last week after a bidder pointed out an error. It turns out that what I had listed as women's sandals were actually men's (it was a pair of KEEN sandals). There was an error in the listing, so I ended the auction and relisted. The same should be done in this case. People shouldn't get upset over one auction ending, it happens all the time. If the OP had noticed after the end of the auction, he should send the shoes as they stand.

Thanks for all the input guys; I hadn't considered the auction-end ramifications but have decided to end it. Considering that there is a full week left of the auction, I don't think people will have invested so much time and hope into the auction as to warrant being justifiably upset. If it were further along, it would have been a harder decision, I think. I see both sides, certainly but I think this is a reasonable approach.

Thanks again!

Definitely the right choice to end it and re-list with the appropriate details. Any chance you can message the bidders and let them know why/to look out for a re-list? Maybe even PM them after the re-list with an apology, reason, and link to new auction?

if it was me, I'd email the bidders and apologize but an error in the listing had been identified and you're going to re-list after you correct the error. Do you have the shell spreadsheet?

Thrift Brag: If only I could find more Kiton!!!

This guy lost the last one I sold a couple weeks ago by $10. He was high bidder but he got nervous today and just hit the BIN to not take any chances.

Lets see. About $3.75 for the Suit. About $4.25 to have it cleaned. $10 for a bespoke english orphan to harvest a replacement button. $6 to have the sleeve lining re-stitched. All in about $24.

less fees and shipping.

And then there's this guy.

a while back, I picked up 3 pair of AE's. Grayson, 5th Avenue, and a Jaron II. All size 11.5AAA.

After a month with no watchers, I get a BIN for the Grayson's. Thinking because this is such a weird size, and since he paid BIN what I thought I would get for 2 pair, I sent him a note saying that if he was interested, I would throw in the 5th Avenues and the Jarons for free, if he would pay the extra $6 in shipping.

Not interested.

I thought a buy 1 get 2 more free was a decent offer.

Buyer advice needed. A NWOT Thomas Pink tie came up on my saved searches BIN for 99 cents. Not a lot of details in the description but no damage reported and none evident in the pics. So I bought it. I check the seller's other items and the first tie I see is a NWT JAB made in italy, same thing so I grab that one too. Then I notice that the seller has about 5 other ties at a 99 cent auction. So I wonder if the seller messed up and meant to list them as auctions.

Not 5 minutes after I buy the two ties, the seller messages me saying her son had dirty hands and messed up a bunch of the ties including my two, and that she will have to cancel the transactions.

She said she would be listing some more ties and could possibly make it up to me, and also said something about men's suits.

So, I think I'm going to ask what replacement ties she has to offer. But if they aren't any good, do I a) take a chance that she's lying and tell her to send them anyway, risking that I get unusable ties, b) ask her to have them cleaned then send them, or c) just take the refund? Also, if I take the refund and see them relisted, is there anything I can do through eBay to call her out?

EDIT: She cancelled all her other tie auctions. So I'm leaning toward believing her.

Sorry to ask this again, but how do you process a return? Do you have the buyer start a case or is there a way to start that from your own end? I poked around a few menu's but didn't see anything really.

How do I remove the cost of shipping from the label? It seems eBay changed their shipping label process todayish and I do not have as many options as I used to. I've tried searching all throughout my ebay options, but have not been able to find the option. Thanks!

I printed labels and they don't have a cost on any of them.

Go to resolve a problem next to the transaction and choose buyer is returning for refund. A case will open and either he will agree to cancel the transaction and you get your credit or you wait for it to close itself and get the credit.
