Hi gents,

I'm looking for a simple nice looking ballpoint pen that I can use on a daily basis. I saw some nice looking Mont Blanc models for around 300 or so dollars. I'm not looking to spend a lot at this point. I'm trying to keep it at or under the $300 mark. With that said, can you suggest any other alternatives and pros/cons?

Thanks!

I only have experience w/ ft pens, but I find Pelikan & Namiki the most reliable.

"Entry level" with $300 for a pen? Really?

That's a messed-up use of the term "entry level."

$300 bucks for an entry level writing instrument/pen, that sounds about right for StyleForvm MC.

I woulnd't spend that much on a ballpoint. On pens in general (Fountains in my case) I'm currently on a Platnium -- very good. I also enjoy most of the other japanese pens (Salior is very good), however my main aim is nib quality which isn't an issue for you obviously.

(Models not listed as I'm not sure they come in ballpoint)

You can get almost any mont blanc on ebay used for sub $300. I recently picked up a rubber starwalker (retail $470) for $220 shipped.

I don't see why this thread would be a spam thread. Members talk about expensive writing instruments here from what I've observed.

$300 would be entry level from the prices I see. They can go well into the 4 figure range and onwards. It's expensive for the general public but again here shoes like AE is entry level whereas it's the cream of the crop to most.

I'm not talking about used items just to keep the playing field leveled.

Thanks for the helpful replies, gents!
