Can't find the right slim fit suit

I am having difficulty finding a new slim fitting suit. The jackets aren't usually the problem, but the pant legs are always a problem.

I can not find a suit that has pants that are extremely slim fitting. I have been all around, Neiman Marcus, Barney's, Nordstrom, Saks, etc... Every time I find the right suit jacket, the pants are like parachute pants, and I don't have skinny legs. I just bought a Saks Fifth Avenue red label suit, which had pants on the slimmer side. I was hoping my tailor could slim them down a little more; She did, but they still weren't slim enough.

I don't know what else to look at. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for something under $1500+-.

Find a suit that fits you almost as you like it and take it to a tailor to slim the legs. Be insistent with the tailor how slim you want them.

If not, go Dior Homme.

Yeah, the Dior Homme is certainly more than I would like to spend. I've only seen them for $2500+, usually $3000+.

I guess I can take it back to the tailor and ask her to slim the pants out even more.

You can slim pants a lot, especially suit pants. Just make sure the jacket fits decently well and needs only some tailoring and the pants you can basically cut apart if you need to. Just make sure your tailor knows what he/she is doing.

I am 6'4" 175lbs (definitely on the slimmer side of things) and have had to work my suit purchases around getting the foundation sizing correct and then 'correcting' the rest. The tailor and I then do work on the waist suppression of the coat and then the seat, rise, and width of the pants. It's not a serious addition to the cost of the suit, but a necessary one, even with trim or modern fitting suits (for me).

I have two RLBLs and if you don't have thin legs then I would recommend trying a BL suit on before falling back on it, because you definitely have to have the right body for them. I wear 40L in all suits that I have, but in the BL I have to let the seat and the rise out. I have found they do not offer my room for error off the rack. You could easily seam off one of your badgers if you're not careful.

It's easy to taper the legs (20$ where I go). Every suit you buy off the rack will require alterations some way or another.

My slimmest fitting pair of suit pants is from Hugo Boss Red, which fits almost as slim as Mabitex pants unaltered. Unfortunately, their suit jackets are fused, so not SF-approved. But they are very well-shaped slim-fitting suits if you're a guy with narrow shoulders especially.
