home is Reykjavik now?

Yeah. I think it is.

You did settle down very well Liam..
Any talent over there?

Unbelievable. And now I'm single.

My cousin is applying to UCL for scandinavian studies. Why would you even waste your money or your time doing that? Wtf are you gonna do with a degree in scandinavian studies?

Dunno, I'm wasting time in Reykjavík and Copenhagen studying old scandinavian ****. I've actually been able to put together a pretty good network and if I feel like playing with the import/export there's a good deal of money to be made, even in Iceland. Tell her to study Norwegian, a) its easier, b) norwegian sovereign fund.

Learn to say rød grød med fløde and open up a danish/swedish food truck.

I doubt a 4 year degree is enough to teach you how to get that right...

Honestly though, all of those "such and such studies" are just a focused liberal arts major. Think of something like history and geography and politics. And like all of the other people who do a major like that, they will probably end up doing nothing related to it.

As long as they think a little bit about what they are doing, there's nothing wrong with that. Study what interests you but make sure you get some work experience in the summers (preferrably explore multiple options over your 4 years) and take a few classes in more practical things. Unless your dream is to be an engineer or work in some quant-heavy finance job...something like that...you can do it with any sort of study.

There's a lot of money to be made in most fields, but also a lot of taxes to be paid. ;)

The bigger companies use english as their corporate language, so you don't need to know the language for work at least.

If I was moving here I would choose Stockholm hands down 1. The women 2. Lower taxes 3. The women 4. Nicer and more welcoming people. 5. The women. 6. Cost of living is lower and the quality is higher.

That is only the beginning.

I'm a gentleman.  I paid for everything in so much as I laid a $50 on the table & told her to call her husband for a ride home.

It's getting to the point that I about just about ready to give up on getting a girlfriend or getting married.  I was about less than a month away from moving out of my parents house, and I lost my job.  26 months of unemployment & I got a part time, minimum wage job.  After four months of that I got a $14 full time job with a temp agency.  I got a call the Monday evening before Thanksgiving telling me not to come in the next day.  I'm going to be 30 next June & I still live with my parents.  This is what you call failure.

Solidarity, brother. Keep trying. It beats the alternative. Trust me, I've been there. At least you have a roof over your head, food in your belly, and clothes on your back. You could be WAY worse off.
