My apologies guys, just writing out my frustrations....feel free not to even read this post as it's been written in a fit of frustration and rage.

My RA (actually, in baylor, they're called 'community leaders') recently called a mandatory meeting to tell us his life story about how he was lost for his entire life until just three and a half weeks ago.

His story was a story of being lost and found.

In his story, he detailed how him and his ex girlfriend used to **** regularly (she's a current student at baylor and we know her...)

He also called her controlling, insane, and a hypocrite

Then, he told us how he's conquered his addiction to Appreciation and masturbation in the past three and a half weeks and how he has THE TOOLS to save us.

Then, he made the final claim "I know for a fact that if you don't love jesus christ, you're going to hell"

By the end of his hour long rant, I was fuming with how stupid this individual was.

I'm angry not because of his beliefs, but because he called a mandatory meeting to force them down my entire dorm's throats.

As he's about to leave, I (in a flurry of frustration) quickly blurt out "so who are you".

He turns around "what?"...

" you said you found yourself, who are you?" ...

him: "well, I don't know...Why don't you come to my room and we cna talk about it" ...

me: "What makes you think your qualified to talk about ANYTHING? How complacent are you to think that YOU should be our spiritual guide in the ways of religion and relationships? "...

him: "nothing, man" ...

me: "THEN WHY DID YOU CALL US UP HERE AND WHY DID YOU INVITE US TO TALK TO YOU WHEN ALL YOU HAVE IS IGNORANT BULLSHIT TO FEED US" ... *silence* ... *I leave, extremely pissed off*

*** end of story ***

I'm not going to ask if what i did was right or wrong or w/e (I'd just be looking for validation in my actions) , but feel free to weigh in if you wish...

Thanks for bearing with me.

I hate it when record companies prohibit you from buying separate tracks from albums on online music stores. I do not want to pay $9.99 for just one song.

I think more artists should take a stand on making listeners digest their music in album format. IIRC the reason Radiohead didn't want their stuff on any digital download sites for so long is because the user could download only one track and not the entire record. OK Computer or Dark Side of the Moon or Sgt. Pepper's or even Yankee Hotel Foxtrot should not be listened to as singles; the artist intended it as part of a greater work, and that work is greater than the sum of its parts. I'm sure there are plenty of individual songs that are meant to exist on their own as such, but the proliferation of digital music and it's listening methods have eroded the public's appreciation of the album, which is a damn shame.

Seems like that's in the eye of the beholder. Especially once the beholder owns the album. So the artist can do what they like (buy the whole album or nothing), but once I own it...or steal the one song I want...

I agree with this. Passive listening of such albums is even more aggravating.
