Thank you. I am thankful it worked in my favor.

Being to one of our foreign offices for training. Nearly no one participates, the people coming to the session don't ask questions, play with their mobile phones, etc. I'm 99,8% sure this week will have absolutely zero impact on what they do and how they do it. First session had 5 participants, the same workshop in the last country I was to had 25, even though our local organization was a lot smaller.

Such a waste of time.

I just found out an hour ago that my maternal grandmother was brought to the icu for a heart attack and kidney failure. because of her advanced age and her frail condition doctors opted to not operate on her and my aunts who are taking care of her are bringing her home tomorrow since they don't want her to pass away in hospice. they live in l.a. and how I wish I could fly out there now and be with them.

they don't expect her to last the week. one of my sister is flying in tomorrow to be with them, and my mom will be there thursday night, hopefully she's still alive by then. too bad I never got to spend much time with her these past few years, even when I was in the united states. she had an amazing life though- she and my grandfather were friends of chiang kai shek and madame chiang, played mahjong with the philippines' first lady (the one before imelda marcos) and became part of imelda's entourage in the 60s until my grandfather forbade her because he thinks imelda's bad news.

Jeez man, I am sorry to hear this. It sounds like she had a hell of a life.

really sorry to hear that acid, i hope somehow she pulls through. its really hard when you are so far away. i hope you find the strength you need to get through this.

__________

i know this now seems rather dumb in comparison, but we got home from ny last night at midnight after a 4 day mini vacay. only to find an infestation of ants in the kitchen and dining room from a yogurt my daughter spilled that we didnt see to clean up before we left. its disgusting. after 2 hours of spraying and stomping we just went to bed. have to call in an exterminator.
