I wore a new pair of EGs this week and almost killed myself walking on the marble floors of the airport. The nails in the heels made it like wearing skates - I almost landed on ****** several times and had to be careful about not putting much weight on the heels. I seriously hope that the nailheads wear down or get roughed up in short order.

Is this experience typical?

Not sure if this is typical, but it happens sometimes.

it can happen with new shoes, especially when metal is involved. it disappears quickly, though.

it's not an EG thing...

For me, it happens on any heel that has more than a few brass nails. I now prefer a full rubber heel on my shoes. Topy, Thames, Dainite heels can be your ass saviour. I use Topy heels.

Thank god it's not just me. I almost kill myself multiple times per day when I wear my Westminsters. Further wear hasn't helped much. My other EG's are fine, it's just this one pair.
