Bag needed for college

I'm looking for a nice, but affordable bag to carry my books and stuff to class. I have a backpack, but i don't want to ruin my look (jeans, dress shirt) with a jansport lol

I'm thinking a messenger bag or perhaps a leather rucksack, but I don't know which brands to look at, and so far all the ones I've found online are out of my price range (~$200-300) and the ones that are in my price range look too "cheap" in that they have a lot of unnecessary buckles and straps that ruin the sleek look I'm looking for. I like paying for quality and supporting smaller companies, but I also have college expenses etc. so it needs to be reasonable. Also, I'd be open to purchasing a used bag as well as long as it's in good condition.

Another question: do any of you carry bags in everyday life when you're not going to or from work?

I would advise you to just be normal and wear a backpack. If you have to wear a briefcase, Filson 256 or 257. The problem with bags that cost less than $200 ARE cheap. That's why they look cheap.

I too would advise you to wear a backpack. Or just carry your books. I don't think I carried a bag to school all four years of undergrad.
