Yes I have posted a pair of SS05 Denim Pants, they have kind of a crackly finish on the fabric, delightful and unique and cut is definitely not jeans like.

Here's another one which had been on for ages, quite tempted myself ( very un-denim cut again ) Is it SS02?

I think we've brought up the Edwin denim collab before, I can kind of see the point in the domestic market as Edwin is quite a big low/mid-market brand in Japan and very popular from what I've seen.

Edwin products vary so much, it is difficult to generalise. I used to live around the corner from their HQ in Arakawa and twice a year they had a 'garage sale' of sale stuff, line-ends, collabs and samples (including free in-house alterations while you waited). The cheapest of their stuff is typical Made in China mass market crap, but at the higher end they can be very interesting indeed. In fact I bought my favourite ever pair of trousers from that garage sale, a beautiful sample pair of loose-weave selvedge pants which I hesitate to call denim because the fabric was so unusual, predominantly light blue warp with weft threads of many of other colours running through it, quite baggy-cut. I wore them for years until they completely wore out. I wish now that I'd kept them and either repaired them or used the salvageable fabric for other patching and repairs. I can imagine that the Yohji collab is much nearer that end of their spectrum, at least I hope so!

Yohji family sale is happening 8/25 & 8/26. Anyone going to be around Tokyo at that time? I highly recommend going if you can make it. I'll be in Nagoya the following week, which does me no good whatsoever.

Outfit from yesterday, put a smile on my face :)

YYPH AW07 " The Skull Man " Knit ( HX-J50-955 ) 100% laine wool, not super luxurious fabric, thin, light weight. Great for cool summer/mild fall on its own and perfect for layering in winter. Non-runway piece ( should be! perhaps because the magic is at the back ) Size 3 regular fit crew neck, bi-colour at the front ( black and black/white diagonal weave ). Delightful snowflake pattern at front and on left sleeve, fair isle on right. The whole back features a fairly accurate reproduction of Shotaro Ishinomori's manga character. Treat this as a piece of art on fashion, not super high quality material but with super standard of construction.

YYPH SS11 Look 16 Elastic Hem Pants in black ( HO-P02-016 ) Size 2, 100% cotton. Posted already with the Vampire Coat, worn here untucked.

Y-3 Exclusive AW10 Neo Classic Hi-top Sneakers - UK sz 7, black canvas construction with 9 eyelet lace closure. Yohji's usual, preculiar text messages on heels and ankles ( some of Exclusive AW10 pieces were feline themed ). Particularly like the boat shaped outsoles adding dynamism.

Without giving my age away, I grew up as a boy watching and reading Japanese manga and anime TV ( dubbed in Cantonese ) in HK in the 70s so it pleased me no end when Yohji released his knits paying homage to Shitaro-san. They bring back good childhood memories. Whilst I am a fan of Ultraman, the yellow and blue pieces from AW04 do not appeal much ( nothing special in construction ). These AW07 ones however are a different story. I would dearly love to get the Look 24 Masked Rider knit, never seen it on Y! so the wait may be eternal.

Yohji is really really strong in his PH knitwear, we should have at least one!

true knit master it's yohji, no doubt. love the jumper david, i might get the one with the blond manga chic, which was exhibited in v&a. too chunky and warm when i tried it on.
anyway, here it's poor attempt of wearing the new knit piece from a/w05. it has millions of buttons and thousands of ways to wear it. i was boiling as it's pretty warm in berlin at the moment, so only one try for now.

s/s 08 hat - thank you alfonso!
s/s 97 gabardine jacket
a/w 09 shirt
a/w 05 knit skirt/scarf (??!?)
a/w 97 gabardine trousers
a/w 08 boots

h&m belt

and the s/s 02 light knit t-shirt.

Thanks Kiko, Yohji used to showcased his phenomenal knits often in the middle section of his Runway Shows but they were not too evident after AW11.... I was particularly disappointed he only showed maybe 2 long cardigans at the end of AW12?

Anyway a yellow AW04 Ultraman knit was on Y! but it didn't look special except the price....plus if it aint yellow I may......

Great fit! So it's you who " inherited " Wire's SS08 Rayon Wire Brim Hat :) It sure looked very special on the SZ classified.

So you only purchased the knit skirt/wrap on its own? I was under the impression it is a set piece with the top shirt which Wire sold me....

The Gabardine Cohesive Set Up definitely works :slayer:

I love both of these pieces and contemplating tracking down the top shirt/dress, or something very similar as it's perfect - i wonder if there is a longer sleeve available. (picture taken from https://totokaelo.com/)

Some great stuff there, my only reservation would be sleeve lengths on a lot of the outerwear.

If there's anything left in ~3.5 weeks I'll be back in Seattle and making a stop at Totokaelo, happy to report back and see how stuff fits
