It does seem slim for a size 4, but the Y's stuff can be cut a lot closer from what I've picked up

The sizing on that leather seems quite reasonable, his leather jackets are usually cut quite slim and I'd say that one pretty much matches the size of his YYPH riders/leathers.

Finally saw some of the SS12 collection, very happy with what I saw on the racks, lots of great stuff. The wide hakamas are the winners of the collection, I tried on the wool gabardine version with raw hem seams and didn't want to take them off, so incredible when worn. The shorter tapered hakamas (the ones on A) were also very nice but not quite as good as the other ones, imo. The peak lapel gabardine coat with small **** cuts in the back is my second choice, extremely nice. The 3 button silk jacket with flower prints was also stunning, the boxy cut was amazing together with this incredibly light fabric, so when worn was slouchy in just the right way. Can see it as a great layering piece as well. It fit me absolutely perfectly but I'm an idiot and can't remember if the size I tried on was a 3 or 4. It's too rich for my blood anyway. The stand cut out collar 5 button silk jacket was also super nice and fit great. There was a bunch of jacket iterations in the super soft and stretchy cotton jersey materal, very light weight and interesting material but the cuts were too slim for my own liking. The shirts looked great construction wise but also looked a bit small, I guess I just prefer bigger cuts. The L1 reversible looked great though the sleeves seemed a bit short, proportionally? Didn't try on any of the shirts. Great shades of blue in this collection too, from deep navy to very light blue. All in all, very very pleased with what I saw and now it sucks even more to be broke.

Glad to hear that the gab coat is fantastic in person. Hope I can still get my size! It's really high up on my list for this season. That and the 3-button silk print jacket. How much was it? Was this at the London store? I am very interested in picking up the blue shirring shirt as well as, like you said, the others look quite slim. Was it also cut slim? On the runway it was worn tucked so have no real clue how it fits/looks in person.

I should also add that justoneeye has received their Yohji buy as well and they have the shirring shirt and red striped hakamas among other things.

^yeah, at the london store. The gabardine coat (L10) cost £1190 and the silk jackets were both £1890 if I recall correctly. The blue shirring shirt fabric blend (I think) was great, cut looked good too, not very big but less fitted than most of the patchwork-esque white shirts. I really liked it but the shade of blue might've been just a tad to bright for me so I didn't try it on. The also had the bright green stuff I think it was paired with. No napoleon cubist jackets, but they had the light green 5 button jacket with cubist panels and the khaki colored longer cubist jacket. Can't recall the prices, I think the size on the racks were 2 for both so I didn't bother trying those on. Great construction.

The Napoleon cubist jackets are due in May in the Japanese stores if I remember correctly, not sure whether the same timeline applies to the UK store, but I would be surprised if it didn't.

Glad to hear about the shirring shirt being slightly bigger. I should be able to pull off the bright blue I think, but I guess seeing it in person would be best before I take the plunge.

Yeah, it's weird. I think the drop is different in Japan and the rest of the world. Apparently the L32 napoleon jacket is already available in HK but as you said doesn't go on sale until May in Japan. When I asked the London SA specifically about that jacket she said they wouldn't get it, and that what they have now is the large majority of the stuff they will carry this spring with 2 or 3 smaller completing deliveries later on, so it's not the same I think. The also had the L34 green linen set up and that is not supposed to drop until April in Japan. I guess international retailers do their limited buys for the start of the season and get their stuff first, while in Japan they cup up the collection from Jan through May for production reasons and to get customers to come back?

That sounds possible. I guess the retail environment in Japan is quite different from most other places, so this pattern must work for them. Well, it gives one a good chance to get stuff as you can plan a purchase in advance. Looks like will definitely just have to pick it up as soon as it drops so I don't have to start looking for it all over, heh. Quite curious about the fabric blend actually so would have liked to handle it in person.

Ivwri, mind sending me those code and details? I'm trying to decide if I LOVE anything from SS/12 enough or just wait for AW/12 since I know i will grab a few piece from there... I just had my birthday so wanted to spend something on myself... coming this close to going Thom Browne lol

I was wearing a 1 on the YYPH blazer I picked up, wondering if this piece could work. for reference, I wear a 38s in slim cut suits, and the shoulder measurement here seems fine, but not the chest.

The basic problem they have is that they're an actual physical store in Hong Kong, but they don't advertise that their stuff is onsale in the storefront at the same time.

I found the coat, chose buy it now (a lot of their auctions have BIN) and they came back to me a few hours later telling me it had already sold... even though I bought it within 4 hours of auction listing. Had I not bought from them before I would have kicked up the biggest fuss......only because it was the PERFECT coat for me.





TL;DR = It's safe

just adding that i had a fine experience with them, got a nice cdgh+ boiled wool but sized wrong i just really wanted black boiled wool so i went for it anyway

Tried on a black cardigan (sz 3) a little bit ago, but it was super big on me unfortunately, shoulders and everything. It was great though, had huge seams running all over it and holes in the sides; which I'm guessing were for accessing your pants pockets through.
