So you're saying you should have went with the 8UK but instead went 7.5UK right? I'm also a 9D US but after providing an outline of both a well fitting shoe and a tracing of my foot, scanned and measured for Pepe and Jose @ Meermin, I was suggested to go for the 8.5UK sizing! Are you familiar with any other lasts (any brand really, Alden, C&J, EG, etc).
The lace holes do look a bit far apart...

What's your US size? I'm going to assume either 9 or 9.5?

Can anyone comment on the fit of the dark calf double monks compared with Carmina's Inca last? Thanks in advance.

If you're fine with waiting, I ordered a pair in 8.5UK and I normally wear 9D US. I followed the last measurements provided, and the 8UK length fit, but the width seemed like it would be too tight.

what are your thoughts on these oxford cap toes? I was going to order these as well. How is the finish and quality?

The finish and overall quality is very good IMO, specially if you take into account the paied price.

what's the typical dispatch once an order is placed? Will be in between addresses and unsure which to dispatch to.

Thank you for also comparing the Classic range, as well as the Linea Maestro. I initially disregarded the Classic range because I thought it would be on the same level as the Loake L1 or equivalent. I didn't realise that Meermin are producing Calf, Goodyear welted shoes (admittedly machine welted) at this price point.

I've sent an email to ask about the Classic AMA last Wholecut and the Classic AMA last single Monk. Specifically, whether Meermin stock them in just black, or they have them in other colours / hues in their shop. I can live with Black for the single Monk, but would much, much prefer a light tan for the Wholecut.

Obviously, I'm not going to get anywhere near the rich tan of the Carminas from the Armoury - but then I will be paying £200+ less.

For the price point and apparent quality, it would be rude not to purchase 2 pairs for rotation purposes.

In terms of the last, I tried a pair of Carmina wholecuts on in Hackett in Jermyn Street at the weekend (and incidentally, got talking to a very nice chap, who was also interested in Carminas, and provided me with plenty of shoe advice) which were in the Rain last in a UK10. My feet fit the Loake 1880 Aldwych (UK10), and fitted the Rain last - except the heel. My heel felt a little bit loose in the Rain last. Perfect width, but just a tad too long. I think that dropping to a UK 9.5 would have been too tight.

Incidentally, the Spencer Hart concession in Libertys in London left a few months ago. The shoe-buying chap in Hackett mentioned that Spencer Hart on Saville Row no longer stock Carminas. It would seem that the only place in London is Hackett. From memory, they had 9 shoes/boots total.

Ah thanks but I just ordered mine earlier today, looks like we may be in the same boat my friend. Hoping the 8.5UK works... I'm worried they'll run long though :embar:

What's the premium for MTO? Those austerity brogues are nice.

Bought the brown medallion cap toes last week. Never got any confirmation of received payment or any Info on shipping. Wrote José two days ago, but still no answer.. Probably everything is fine, but a bit worrying....

I simply cannot wait. I am headed to Barcelona in a little over a month, too bad they don't have a shop there!

Got my double monks today (calf marron) and fit is really really good. Going to get a shell version MTO I think. Quality seems pretty good, finished has a few stitches that aren't perfect but about the same level as Alden finishing and I could get four pairs of meermins for one pair of Alden shell.

For sizing reference on Hiro last, here is what I posted in the carmina x epaulet thread. Anybody with Hiro in 10UK have their Carmina sizing?
My sizing as follows:
Alden Barrie: 10.5D or 10E, 10D on non boots is a little tight but could be doable, 10D on boots is too tight
Alden Grant: 10D on lwb, a bit tight by toes but good snug fit otherwise
Alden Modified: 10.5D a bit long but good fit otherwise
Alden Trubalance: 10.5D, good fit with slightly thicker socks
Allen Edmonds (5 and 7 lasts): 11D, never tried on wide but decent fit here
C&J 325 (RL Marlows): 10.5D ok fit
Grenson: 10E UK a bit long
Mark McNairy / Sanders: 9.5E UK
Meermin: Hiro last 10UK
Quoddy: 10D, super tight / painful for first few wears but after a while great sockless fit, pinky toes do poke out a bit though
To Boot NY: 11D kinda long
Trickers: 9.5 Fitting 5 UK
Yuketen 10E or 10.5D
