For a change of pace, try them with cordovan polish. It turns burgundy into bordeaux.

What's the difference between burgundy and bordeaux?

FWIW I use "cordovan" colored polish on all my shoes with a red tint.

Thank you diorshoe. They are Bettanin & Venturi and bought them at Barney's New York here in Beverly Hills recently. I really love the color.

The Channel. English and French words for what is really the same color.

That picture is of the shoes right out of the box. I've subsequently polished them with cordovan polish and it did a good job of really bringing out the different shades in the shoe.

I think Barneys sells Bettanin & Venturi for $1045. Take away the funky soles with multiple stitching, and you've got pretty obscene looking shoes

This explanation reminds me of that commercial I saw on TV.
When a girl clearly disappointed with her boyfriend's lack of sophistication tells him that "Bistro" is French for restaurant....

Are you sure?
I have checked the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Shades_of_brown) and I have not found bordeaux among the brown shades. Also, locally (here in Spain), I have the feeling (I may be wrong) that "burdeos" (=bordeaux) is used to denominate what is known as "burgundy" on this website. Aren't both terms basically used to refer to the colour of red wine in general?
On the other hand, oxblood is that dark red colour that is almost black?
And what about this "cherry" colour?

By the way, these ankle boots

(I know that I have posted them before, sorry for boring you with these repetions, but I am just so happy with them!) were referred to as "burdeos" by Carmina.
Normally, when I wear them, I use what I believe to be an oxblood belt (by Pal Zileri).
