I notice that several users on SF wear a spread or point collar without buttons. Are button collars going out of style?

I love button down oxfords, very nice. Different settings call for different attire. I wouldn't wear a button down with a suit.

Your reasoning, dear sir?would never wear a shirt with a button collar
Your reasoning, dear sir?
Please elaborate the part where you wrote that button downs shouldn't be worn with a tie. I think you may have forgotten to add "imho".It is not a matter of out-of-style. Buttondown collar shirts are more casual and they shouldn't be worn with a tie -even if you can see many buttondown collars with a tie in the US-.
I like buttondown oxfords and linen shirts, but i wouldn't wear them with a suit.
So many noobs posting random nonsense in this thread.
