Since most (or all?) of the jackets have working buttonholes, does anyone have experience with letting their in-house tailors shorten the sleeves via the shoulder? or can they only do minimal shortening from the sleeve opening?

I'm a bit concerned that the overall finish won't be as nice if let's say you buy a La Spalla model then have it shortened via the shoulders.

I've ever shortened from the sleeve.

I presume their in house tailors would do a good job at shortening from the shoulder - and if they managed to screw it up, well it's all SS stock, so they could just give you another one.

However, shortening from the shoulder takes quite a bit of skill and it's not something I'd send to my cheap tailor I use for hemming.

Has anyone been to the Chicago store on Rush St. ? Does anyone know how much a gray 3-piece will run me?

Their pricing is pretty set. Just look at the website.

Since Suit Supply has many model of their suits, could somebody please figure out how each model fit?

I only know that the Washington is the slimmest, but how about the others, such as Lazio, Napoli, Sienna, Havana etc?

Any opinions on this?

I purchased it. It's a very nice blue blazer. Despite the use of patch pockets, I think it's more dressy than casual due to the high-quality material and goes better with wool dress pants rather than denim jeans. Main con is that it has functioning sleeve button holes, which means shortening at the shoulder if you need shorter sleeves ($90 at my tailor).

Purchased via gift card last week. Able to wear off the rack no alterations. I have a 12' drop and typically wear custom - very happy with this summer jacket and I am not seeing any sleeve pitch issues (as I typically complain about with regard to SS offerings). Probably due to the heavier linen/wool fabric.

Very nice. I've never had sleeve pitch issues with any of my SS jackets/suits, and I own a lot of their stuff. I think it really depends on your build, i.e. people with an out of the ordinary build experience issues.

You are correct. I am not a big man but I have a 42-43' chest and a 31.5 inch waist. I look like an upside down Dorito.
Anyway I really like this coat, looks better than some of my expensive custom jackets. Sigh.

The suit descriptions and accompanying videos on the website are pretty accurate.

Suitsupply has free shipping for orders > $500 and free return shipping. You can even arrange pick-up for returns right from your door or drop off at a UPS center. In my experience, the return/refund process was speedy and hassle-free.

So I suggest ordering any number of suits on your credit card and returning the ones you don't like.

Today I visited the Chicago storefront. Everyone there was very helpful, polite, and respectful. They were listening closely to what I said. I had a good experience and will go again when the fall lineup hits the stores. I was after a summer type jacket and tried on everything and then some. I ended up fitting quite well in the 34R Havana and purchased the Havana brown check. It seemed the most versatile of the three that fit me well (should work for fall too!). The other two were the Washington in 36 and the Copenhagen in 36. The Copenhagen 34 fit me absolutely perfecly in the shoulders but it too tight around the midsection, and there's not much to let out (I needed more than an inch probably).

I am a small man and I was really surprised how much I liked the large peak lapels on Washington jacket. It looked really sharp on me and I ended up ordering one a few hours after I mulled it over from home.

I would recommend you make the trip to the store and give it a try. Unless you're a major introvert they'll make you comfortable and you can ask all your questions. They really were very good gentlemen.

P.S. No sleeve pitch issues for me either. And the best part is that none of the well fitting jackets had excess material below the back of the collar. Almost any OTR coat I buy requires tailoring there!
