Peak lapels denote formality, as far as I know. And the 3/2, I would argue, is far from trendy. If you're looking for a staple suit for work in the city, I'd stay away from the Washington model as well--especially if your stable is still in its infancy...

+1, it's not a staple suit. To me you should have a staple suit in each color (navy, charcoal) before you start building into a suit like the Washington.

All RTW suit models of Suitsupply are half-canvassed, except the Sevilla cut (which is fused, sometimes available in their summer collection). This is not dependent on pricing.

You are correct, sir.

Anyone have experience with the "italia" model? Couldn't find any info on the other threads, and only one italia SC is in the suitsupply catalog. How is its fit & button stance compared to the washington?

Just got the Napoli fit, and I must say the pants are much slimmer than I anticipated. They fit very nicely for a suit, I cannot imagine how slim the Washington pants must be.

Has anyone purchase any grey suits from SS? I just got one and thought it was borderline black, I was wondering how the other greys line up.

This is a closer of mine.. Napoli cut.. size 46L dark gray or charcoal.. apart from pitch issues I like everything else.. and I apologize for the dirty mirrors in advance as well..

This is my gray one that I posted earlier Diesel man..Dark charcoal gray. I think the darkest they have and it does not appear to look black under light

What item/model number is this? It looks much lighter than mine.

The charcoal i got from the F/W collection looks like the other 2 charcoal's I've owned in my life, neither of which would be confused as black. The one i have is close to this.

Does anyone know if they have sales on older merchandise in their physical stores? I'll be in London in a few weeks and was hoping some of the F/W jackets were still available and on sale. thanks

The Washington is supposed to be the slimmest but is also way to trendy IMO with the peak lapels, ticket pocket and 3/2. If Napoli doesn't work out I may try a Washington suit. I am not in love with all the little details of the washington though.

I have a Washington sportcoat in something like a dark/royal blue color. It does have peak lapels but does not have a ticket pocket and is a 2-button not a 3/2. The pockets are patch pockets. The only things I don't like about it are that it has 5 sleeve buttons (working) and the sleeve openings are pretty large - they almost appear to flare from a generally slim sleeve - which I guess is to accommodate French cuffs. But I wouldn't be wearing French cuffs with a fairly casual sportcoat.

Why does nobody like the functional sleeves? Assuming that you dont have to adjust the sleeve length more than 0.5", I think its a cool extra detail to an already well made coat.

The functional buttons are fine for me - I got a 38L and only needed the sleeves lengthened about 1/2", so it was OK. But if I had needed more of an extension, either the tailoring would have been prohibitively expensive or would not have looked good.

My problem is that there are five sleeve buttons. I'd prefer four or three.

Still, I think it's a good value and I'm very happy with the coat. It has a pretty open weave and is only half-lined, so it should be nice and cool in the summer.
