I see Ethan applying some polish on the sole......sure GG's oak bark soles are pretty but really? wax on sole?

The soles get superficial scratches as people knock them around in the store, so usually you have to polish them a little from time to time to remove the scratches.

I see Ethan uses the wet rag against his skin, this is odd. Shoe polishes have plenty of poisonous ingredients and I can't even open a can of Saphir indoors. The stink alone is nauseating. A few polishing sessions a month shouldn't be an issue, but I'm a bit worried about Ethan's three-hour orgies and frequency. Although this does give a new meaning to shoe high.

Poisonous? I mean, it's not like you should eat a can, but I dunno about poisonous? Me personally, I love the smell of shoe polish. One of the best smelling places in the world is the G&G factory (and it's not because of Tony's cologne).

I do not think they are pointy. There is a big difference between pointy shoes and elegantly styled and balance modern lasts. G&G execution is flawless and their Deco lasts is not too different from their TG73 last.

I second that. As long that there is balance, there is beauty.

saphir polishes contain some solvents (turpentine perhaps) but yeah It shouldnt be much to worry about. I would be more concerned about the pigments not coming off my fingers. :D

talking about good smelling polishes....Tapir brand polishes smell pleasantly citrussy.. the cedar wood aroma of Colonil Diamant is goood too. Both of them are also solvent free...

The Uppingham is gorgeous. Any more Uppingham pics that others can share?

Mine are about a year old now - current pic.

Fit is perfect - creases don't seem too much to me for a pair of shoes that are more than a year old.

Perhaps others will disagree with me? I'm no expert.

Fit looks perfect, but the creases...

The fit appears to be good, although boldly speaking perhaps the MH71 & TG73 aren't as perfectly suited to gdots foot as some of his other shoes. Needless to say however it's still pretty good for a rtw shoe and many would be content with such a fit.

The creases are by no means excessive and no doubt more noticeable on screen rather than in real life. Although I'm sure their appearance is more exaggerated because of gdot's frequent over application of products, this is a theme on all his posted shoes.
