iirc from asking nick @ bespoke they start in the $2300 range.

:fu: I'll just get 2 RTW's for that - they fit me just fine.

if you have a slender build you will do ok with the 73, if you are more broad or stocky, try the 71. if you can, try on both first.

I'm more broad/stocky and the 71's have served me well so far. I'm feeling to just stick to what looks good :nodding:
Thanks for the input, stitch!

G&G Starts at $2,300 for bespoke? That can't be right, seems kind of low.

that was nicks number as of about 6 months ago. easily could have gone up since.

They are machine welted (Goodyear). As are the vast majority of the RTW brands mentioned above.

I believe the uppers are machine stitched - but I'm not certain. (Human hands guide both of these processes).

Truly handmade shoes are hand welted and hand stitched.

But we are getting into territory in which my knowledge is limited so I'm going to bow out.

Do not worry - your G&Gs are the top of line quality for what they are - your money has been very well spent.

So what exactly has to be handstitchted there to be truly handmade?
(this is not a serious questions, if you show me a single pair of formal shoes (a left or right one would be sufficient actually) of any maker in the world that comes with handsewn uppers I will buy you a drink).
