nick . . . . i need some advice before ordering.  The website seems to indicate the mh71 & kn14 lasts are similar, at least in terms of toe shape.
how about the heel 'cup'. i have the cannes on the kn14 and find the heel a little too voluminous.
how can i achieve equivalent to a 10.5 D US without heel slip ?

Strange because the KN14 is designed for slip-on shoes with a slightly tighter heel to prevent slipping. You should find that a lace shoe or boot such as Arran will hold your foot down in to the heel more anyway which ever last you have but I wouldn't like to guarantee this with you. It may be an idea for me to ship something out for you to try on if you don't mind paying for return shipping.

i'm not opposed to return shipping. it's possible that i've been spoiled by St Crispins sailor last.
on the chance you have a burnham lying around to use for fitting purposes, let's talk.

I only have the Burnham in UK 10.5E and I believe you should try a UK 10E. I have 2 pairs of Arran in Size 10E which will give you a feel of how the Burnham would fit. Is it the Burnham you would want? They are wonderful!

i was taking a shot in the dark that i might upgrade. trying the Arran would likely kill two birds @ once as it were.
i'll pm later today with shipping info.

taking the cannes out for their first roadtrip today with a saphir insert to see how we get along.

Nick is an extremely generous and honorable merchant to deal with. He very patiently helped me work out my GG size, from the UK to Florida.

Exemplary service, best I have experienced, thank you Mr. Nick.

I think that's just for bespoke...the Savile Row shop has regular hours for RTW I think.

Yeah, G&G.  It's a five minute cab ride.

Thanks. Will be in London on friday,

FYI according to their website it's by appointment only

How strange.

G&G doesn't have their own showroom/shop.

They do have just a display unit set-up in the premises of Chittleborough & Morgan (tailors) in Savile Row. If you just drop-by, there won't be anyone with a knowledge of footwear on the premises.

At one time Justin (the Shoe Snob) came over from Gieves to attend G&G shoe customers. But with Justin now offering his own line, I have no idea, f this arrangement is still in place.
