Since I was chatting Northcote earlier today, I thought I'd PSA an 11D, Black, very gently (barely?) pre-owned pair that just turned up on Ebay with a good starting price here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281070951178

Apparently being flipped from Barney's recent sale. No affil with seller, just passing it along for those who might be hunting it.

Looks like Portman available only from the French store?

If I remember correctly, CJ NY store could get items not listed as the regular US stock.

Icic I don't live in the US either so having it shipped from France would make more sense no vat and all. So whatcha think Portman right? That's the only boot from them I like its sleeker and handgrade

A question for those who are familiar with both UK and US sized C&J.   Has anyone purchased from Barney's recently?  If so, would you say that their size conversions are accurate (ie. 10EUK=11DUS).  Or a full size conversion.  Neither the box or shoe was labeled with UK size.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

I got the Cliffords and I thought the conversion was accurate (labelled US10D = UK9E).

I would go by the UK size listed in their website. The suggested TTS may not be accurate. Islay is in the 365 last and is roomier. I am a 6.5E UK in most CJ, EG and JLP. My Aldens plaza are 7D. The Islay I just got from Barney's was a 7D US and listed as 6UK on their site. Luckily I could try them in store. I would suggest to you try on or get 2 sizes if you could not try them in person as the other gentleman suggested.

Since we actually now have a C&J representative, maybe this can officially be cleared up with the size conversions with brands such as Barney's, Ralph Lauren, Paul Stuart, and Brooks Brothers. However, if this infringes on contractual matters, I understand if manufacturers may not be able to provide such information.

Hi All, Crockett & Jones has never posted on the official C&J thread before and after getting "very positive" permission from the administrators of SF, we have decided to join in, but only a little... We are not here to detract from what SF does best as it is great to see so many customers discussing the brand in what seems to be a very positive way 99% of the time. We will also not offer opinions to discussions as the choice of a shoe is a personal one. All we intend on doing is putting incorrect facts straight so to ensure the content on SF actually adds value to anyone reading it. For example (on this page): Our Factory Shop is never on sale and 348 is indeed one of our most popular lasts, but this is a Main Collection last, not Hand Grade. Crockett & Jones is as genuine as a company can get and we are pleased to read to many positive comments. Thanks again for your continued support. Crockett & Jones.
If this thread were a business, I would buy all the stock I could lay hands on. Its value just skyrocketed. :)

I have some C&J 9D BB Black Fleece Cordovan Captoe double leather storm welted boots that have minimal milage on them, but did see snow once. Anyway not creased and a very good looking #8 built on 240 last. PM me if interested..... This is the boot listed on the BB website currently for 1Kish. Going another direction.

Also the UK doesn't sell any version of the Portman if you believe the website. Where do I find the Portman 2? Or who do I contact to get a pair?

Interesting, it is a little worrying if you cannot find Portman on our website. I am looking at it now! http://www.crockettandjones.com/Product/Portman-3-Darkbrown#.UTB_IDDJR8E

Which website are you looking on?

Here is some background info for you on PORTMAN... The original Portman was on the 337 last, Portman 2 was on the 350 last (the last was subsequently dropped from our entire range) Portman 3 is on 358 last which is currently run in London only

If any other version of Portman are available in store, it will be old stock and probably only available during sale periods.

I hope the above helps.
