where's the cheaper place to get the warm pile liner?

I got mine on countryattire.com.  They're located in the UK, but their price was still lower than what Orvis charges (shipping included).

hey guys. Just wanted some sizing advice. I'm 5'11, 170. I wear a size 40 suit jacket. Although i do own 1 or 2 suits in a size 38. Should i size down to a 38 if I wanted a tighter fitting jacket?

You could, but I'd be concerned about sleeve length being too short.

I'm 5'11, 150. Just purchased a Shordace jacket (size M, supposedly 40). It fits well. Size 38 may be very tight for you. But it depends on styles.

You can always order multiple sizes and return whichever one doesn't fit.  I'm 5'11", 150 lbs, and wear a 38 suit jacket.  The 36 Bedale works well for me (I usually wear it with the liner).

I agree with those suggesting going down a size. I wear a 40 suit jacket and have a 38 Bedale that measures 21" pit to pit. If you go on the UK Ebay website you'll notice that some of the sellers give quite comprhensive measurements which can be a useful guide.

I also wear a size 40R suit, but do 40s in my Bedales and a 38 in my Beaufort. That 38 Bedale is just a bit too tight.

I did some repairs on my vintage Navy Bedale last night: http://www.redclaysoul.com/?p=5546

By no means am I a tailor, but it was a lot cheaper (free) than sending it in to have fixed.

I just picked up a Bedale in a size 40 over on the thrift thread; I traded it for a vintage border in a size 34, which was waaay to small, but I picked it up for $30, and it was perfect, so I tried to make it work. The Bedale fits me, lengthwise, much better, but there's a bit too much room now. Trying them on at Orvis, I think I'd fit best in a 38.

Anyone out there want to trade my mint Bedale from the 1990s, in a size 40, for a similarly awesome Bedale in a 38. Mine in a classic green, and I don't really care about color that much for the trade.

Alternatively, if anyone has a snap-in liner for the size 40 Bedale, let me know.

I have the same fitting experience as you. But, the Tokito Barbour Riding Jacket fits perfect in a large.

Can't believe I haven't asked this here yet, but I'm looking for a replacement belt for my International and don't wish to be bent over by the sellers on EBay. Any ideas?

This is a crazy idea, but it just might work.
