That you have basic knowledge is great, but please hire a guide. I'm assuming that you are planning on going out of bounds from the ski area, as opposed to backcountry in the tetons (referred to as "the park" by the locals) or off of teton pass ("the pass"). JH has access gates to out of bounds terrain from within the ski area, which will be plenty challenging based on your level of experience. You can get a guide with a group or private. Always, always, always get to the mountain early, particularly if you get a powder day (even if you are staying in bounds - get on the first tram!). Guides also have good insight where you can make fresh tracks OOB.

FWIW I used to spend ~4 wks per year in JH skiing/climbing.

I'll definitley look in to it, thanks for the recommendation and info

I'll gladly sell out to corporations and take a big ass logo on the thing, but I'm not selling out to ****** graphic design. I just don't roll like that.

Ok, well if you want an all mtn board with clean graphics check out these two.

Jones Mtn Twin

Arbor Element

If you can last seasons you should be able to get both for under $400.

Fugly is something you kinda got to live with when it comes to skis and snowboards , especially snowboards.

I tend to agree, I used to get all worked up about the fact that clean graphics are lacking in snowboarding gear but best to embrace it. Now I've got some wacky ****...

Choosing the proper skis ( or snowboard) is difficult enough without throwing graphics into the mix
