I just ordered an 11" Alienware to tote around. I have a 15" Asus mobile desktop that fails at being mobile. It doesn't fit in any 15 or even 17" laptop bags. I have a visvim 22l rucksack that it barely squeezes into in the main compartment. lol

But for those interested, Alienware is running some promotions for the 11". $240 discount on a ready-to-ship model and no interest 12 month financing if you qualify for a dell preferred account.

Back to TOJ -- Drew, or anyone else with the quilted polyfill, how thick is it? I have an OG peacoat that fits pretty snug, so I'm not sure if adding the quilted polyfill to a duffle will warrant a size up.

Try carrying around a military grade laptop for a while. It's nearly 9 lbs. Trust me, you want it on your back, not asymmetrical across your body. On the other hand, I can pick up wi-fi from like, miles away, with the antenna. It can also probably double as a shield if need be.

FQHH 2.2 Bomber for the TOJ fit battle

So THIS is what fqhh looks like broken in. I've been neglecting my whiskey fqhh 2.2. Mine is still stiff and noisy. :embar:

Looking for some input here...

Does this look really weird?

TOJ2.jpg

It's a lightweight Jil Sander bomber under my TOJ. So a bomber underneath a bomber (lolwut I know). My wardrobe is pretty limited at this point, so I'm really just looking for ways to make pieces work together.

I cannot decide whether or not this is an atrocity.

I can't really conceive of what you kids must be doing to warrant getting laptops in this day and age. I can easily answer all my emails on a smart phone and prefer reading to gaming on them (better for battery life and lets you catch up on the news). Does everyone here work at a place where they don't get a workstation with multiple monitors?

All I want and need is a non-backpack that I can use while wearing my DR (because that just messes up the whole silhouette man). Maybe some sort of zipped up black canvas and leather tote?

I'd much prefer to surf the web at home using a laptop than a phone...

I suppose for people who move around frequently having a laptop is preferable to a desktop. I just like having a desktop because it's customizable. That said, I wonder how a lot of people manage to go around with most of their life's information unencrypted in a laptop, wouldn't it be preferable to have it all on a 64/128 bit encrypted thumb drive if you really did have to have work documents on the go?

That is of course only valid if you actually have access to a computer while working normally. Consultants or people who travel frequently for work I can see needing to have something they can work on in hotel rooms.

Wearing my VTG CM right now. Arrived today.
Uncanny thing this is!
Squeaky as hell, but not as stiff as I expected.
Measurements were based on my older A-1...Drew made the needed adjustments.
Fit is bang on. I could not be any happer with this really.
Sorry, can not post any fit pics right now.
Started testing with the cut scraps included. Several different sorts of waxes and oils going in.

looks good jslade. all your pants fit so well :slayer:

Gonna have to disagree on that. That narrow leg opening + comparatively large size gats makes his feet look like loaves of bread sticking out. The bomber looks great though.

Sup with Drew editing out most of his Dayton comments and replacing with a wry emoticon? Something's up!
