Well I have tried to get through episode 6 (season 1) 3 times and failed.
Exactly where the guy dies and goes through the hole in the floor and that is exactly where I fell asleep all three times.
This show does help me sleep at night so it is useful as a sedative.

The books are filled with ass and *******. Bunch of half naked people, a whore house, constant sex scenes. I mean, what the **** did you expect?

The books are definitely not PG, but the tv show is a little more salacious than the books are. OTOH, it will probably have less ****.

Then again, the sex scenes don't seem out of place in the books as they do the show.

There is at least one scene, can't remember if it was in the 2nd or 3rd book, that is going to be pretty hot when they show it on tv.
