Slightly too much, but RMW are always good slightly loose. lt sounds like you are between sizes. l'm the same.

The right question is not how much space you have at the end of the boot, but really if the widest part of the shoe matches the widest part of the foot.

I actually think slightly tight is better because they do stretch significantly in the course of just a day... and then I swear shrink back.

i bought a 7.5 g looks like i should have gone with a 7 g -__-. so its definate that about 1 inch in the very chisel toe part is too much space? every other part of the boots fit so nicely just kind of annoying to know i have that much space in the front. i'm used to just about maybe half a inch of extra space never 1 inch of space.

Not necessarily. Depends how they fit.

Just been into RM Williams .....well about 8 hours ago. Tried on the craftsmen...liked them but I want to order a forum special so I might do that. Hopefully will have some pics to post in the next few weeks.

as reported by soaped in the cool shoes thread, ebay seller shoemart has these on sale for $195 shipped with an easy return policy. I picked up the craftsman in chestnut...

Probably not. I once tried on a pair of size 5G, and I could barely put them on. (I ordered a pair of 6G, but they came with a wrong size). I think you need at least 7.5G. Maybe some other more experienced members can chime in.

I love you for mentioning this. My size in craftsman is 9.5 H, but a 10 G will do, and it'll get me a pair of black RM Williams after I gave up on trying to get forum specials. ~$200 for them with the way the USD has been falling is a hell of a deal.

Moving from the turnout to the craftsman, do you size out a width, generally speaking? I.e., 9G turnout --> 9H craftsman?

I recently ordered a pair of Craftsman boots in 9.5 G Australian, which The ShoeMart claims is roughly equivalent to a medium-width 10.5 US. I'm usually an 11 D US, but I've heard enough people claim that the boots stretch enough that being a little bit on the tight side initially isn't a problem (there were no 10 Gs available).

I just came home to find them sitting at my door today, and after wearing them briefly around the house they seem to fit very well other than the fact that my large toes are experiencing side pressure around where their "knuckle" joints are. This is happening in the reinforced area of the toe box. Should I just deal with this for a few days and find that it magically goes away, or is this an area of the boots that won't stretch well? There are no 10Gs available at the moment, but I'd rather return these and wait a few weeks or months for something that will fit than keep a pair of boots I'll never want to wear.

Your boots are bit small but with plenty of leather conditioner and a break in period you might find that they will work for you.

All the sizing info you need is in post #1 of this thread.

RMW recommends US size - 1

ie that you order a 10G.
