Question about matching metal and Atlanta cobblers

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading these posts for the past year before I decided to register.

I did have a couple of questions and I was hoping to get some useful input.

First...I just saw the Grant RL/EG and I am thinking about getting it someday. I did notice that all the brown toned EG monks came with gold or brass colored metal. I wear a platinum wedding band and my watchces are stainless steel. I would think this match up would still be okay.....what do you gents think? Is it a major error? (I do have brown toned belts with both dull brass and silver colored buckles)

Also for my fellow Atlanta members.....can you guys recommend a good cobbler for my shoe service needs in Atlanta?

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Some people recommend Trio in Buckhead but the owner is quite arrogant. I had a successful repair there but it was a while ago. I do not recommend letting them polish the shoes.

I also had luck with Heel Sew Quick at Perimeter Mall.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Those Grants are on my watch list.

As for the shoe repair places, I 'll check those places out. Anybody have any experience at the Bennies in Buckhead?

Tomasso, I actually just browsed the site at first but I got into clothing more in the past year because of this site and AAAC...... so I never got around to registering for this site until now. I did get a lot of knowledge just from reading the posts. But now, I really look forward to actually being able to post threads and reply to them. A year is a long time to wait.

Sorry Artisan Fan...I saw it on the polo website. I did stop by the Polo store this past weekend and they only had the Camden. Actually it was the first time I saw an EG model on the floor at that store. I know they can get EG in for their MTM event that they have twice a year and I think there is no additional charge for the MTM shoes during that time. I have also had them order in EG from their other stores....so you may have them do that for you to get a actual look at them before you decide to buy.

The grant is on the 888 last right? I think I saw that in another post......

Interesting...need to stop by and get on the MTM event mailing list. Maybe check out the Camden as well.
