Best Route to Achieve My Goals

My objective is to lose 30 pounds of fat and gain 20 pounds of muscle. Right now I am running, biking, and lifting. I am focusing on losing the fast first and lifting to just make sure I don't lose any of the muscle tone that I have.

Is this the right plan, or would I be better to start out trying to add the muscle weight and then losing the fat? My fear is that this alternative route would find me cutting into muscle gain while trying to lose fat.

Just get ripped, shredded, jacked, axed and maxed. It's easy.

This.

Also, think long walks or occasional sprints for the cardio, don't beat yourself up with the running and biking. It's easy to overdo cardio work and end up with lots of cortisol (bad for weight loss) to show for it.

Here's how I define "eat better":

- Eat protein with every meal. Shoot for 1g per pound of body weight. Also, if it didn't have a face or soul it's not protein.
- Get your carbs from fruits and veggies. Preferably organic. Go 30 days with no grains, legumes, dairy, processed sugar, or juice. Absolutely no soda.
- Eat lots of good fats, like avocado and coconut and olives and olive oil.
- Supplement with fish oil for the extra omega 3s. 1g EPA+DHA per 10lb of body weight. It's anti-inflammatory. There is a longer explanation.
- Drop alcohol if you're serious. Or at least switch to dry red wines, or the NorCal margarita (google it)

^^good stuff. Before you do anything get your diet in line, it's the "holy grail" of fat loss. Then start working in your cardio and weight lifting.
