Is there a reason you stick with the 355, and not a newer 360 or 430?

The 355 in my mind represents the last of the simpler/smaller Ferraris, the cars i lusted after as a kid. I'm not a fan of the 430, but I would love to have nice 6 speed 360 at some point. I'm not sure I could part with the 355 even if I did, and two Ferraris is more headaches than I can handle. I struggle to drive the 355 at least 1-2 times per week, and you need to drive these cars frequently to keep them in operating condition. I love the 458 as well, but dear lord they have gotten expensive. The car I've been most tempted by lately is a black 550.

I remember dreaming about the F355 as a kid as well and would love to have a convertible for the summer. I remember reading a guest contribution on a blog comparing a F355 spyder and a Porsche of that same era. The Ferrari seemed like a lot of compromises for a lot more pleasure... and that V8 sound. I guess you gotta have both. In Europe they go for around 50-60k€.

Here is the link, interesting reading for any car fan: http://motoringconbrio.com/2012/03/...-driving-the-ferrari-f355-spider-part-1-of-2/

Oh and a nice video

What's up players? Long time no talk. Picked up these two new black/black luxo cruisers last week. Also just got the 355 back from its second engine out major. Wayyy too much car activity the last month. Unfortunately the 355 needs new cats, may just do test pipes. Hope all is well with everyone!

I'm going for Audi A5 3,0 Tdi Tiptronic Sportback year 2010. Testdrove it today and the A7, A7 looks def nicer. But driving them feels almost the same. I only need a car that can takes me to work so the A5 will work just fine :)

And that VW is awesome!

of all the cars produced by the house of Enzo, the F355 is by far my favorite. even though the 458 Italia is the best

this thread is relevant to my interests

my contribution:

2008 VW R32

how did you get your photo to come out like that? the blue of the sky is breathtaking and it sets off the blue of the car (I'm sure that wasn't an accident)

You just need a clear blue sky I think. I took this pic when I hiked Mt. Baldy last month and I think it turned out pretty good (color-wise), a little tweak via PS should make it pop even more.

^ yeah

just basic tweaking (levels, contrast) in photoshop usually gets the desired effect.

ah good call - i would put the Z8 very firmly in the collectible category. Ever seen the used prices for them? They sell for the same or more as what they sold for new, 12 years later.

Yep. I saw one on the road a couple of months back here in Fort Worth, and thought "damn that's a beautiful car...I wonder what it would go for these days?" Was astonished to learn that the prices are just as high as the day they came out.

Porsche 993's are holding their value too and seem to be well on their way to collectible status.

Yeah, the Z8 has almost never dipped below current market prices as well. Would be a good buy for a collection. I went to school with all the Wal-Mart family kids and they bought new cars constantly, I remember one of them pulling up next to me in the Alpina version of the Z8 (this was back when it was a new car) and getting my mind blown. They had the usual supercars and stuff but that Alpina really made an impression on me, especially since it was in the middle of America.

All air-cooled 911's are worth good money, can't even pick up a mediocre air-cooled 911 for less than $20K anymore, 964 or 930. 993's are slightly inflated on the US market, by maybe 20%-30% I feel. There's 993TT's that sit on ebay at $80K every day of the year. I'm whittling down my car list still and the 993 keeps popping up because of it's insane value. I could pick up a 993TT for about the same or less as it'd cost in the US, a rare occurrence. It's pretty tempting because I know that if I ever wanted to unload it later, the market would be solid. Those 993 C4S are worth a ton too, almost turbo prices.
