Holes on Shoe Soles

I am considering purchasing a pair of shoes that I assume were used as display from the circular holes (I think due to screws). I assume from the location of the holes I will eventually wear over that area eventually and they will not look too noticeable.

I am wondering if there are any other concerns (besides aesthetics) with shoes that have these holes. I know eventually I will re-sole them and that should take care of the issue (hopefully). I included a picture of the shoes, thanks!

You should be fine. These shouldn't make a difference.

c&j stores dont mark displays, and will in fact sell the display model as a new boxed item. probably your mark is indicator of 2nds or subs

but otherwise the holes shouldnt present any problems

Sometimes the mannequins have rivets in the bottom where the base meets the "model" that leave this mark.

Nordstrom Rack often drills these holes to prevent returns as well.

Interesting way to mark shoes to prevent returns. It would seem better if they placed those holes on the heels since the heels can typically get replaced more. I used to live in CA where there are tons of Racks and I always hated that they write on the soles too (although I had a cobbler just paint the whole sole black and it actually ended up looking nice).

Too bad I'm not around the AZ area or else I might be frequenting their Last Chance location.

Nordstrom Rack shoes, no doubt.

Based on your pictures the quality of the shoes are sh*t.

Then people could replace the heels relatively cheaply and exchange them for new ones from a retail store.

Btw, I've never seen those on a Nordstrom's rack shoe.... Not sure what your Racks are doing.

I know this is a common practice in the music industry to prevent returns of CDs and promo copies sent to radio or freebies, but I hd no idea until now this was done to shoes. Although, I have seen samples of clothing with swatches cut out. Do many others than Nordstroms do this? I haven't even seen shoes at a thrift shop with this.
