NYU Professor Responds to a Douche Student's Email

Thread Starter
Scott Galloway, professor at NYU's business school, got this stupid fucking email from a potential student about Galloway's class policies:

I'm fucking not entirely impressed with his dressing down of that student. That teacher should enroll in the Vitriol Workshop and Retreat that I am hosting in Port Townsend this summer.

I just want to say this now before any smart-ass gets any ideas. Any one of you guys shows up an hour late to one of my threads - you've got to get out and wait for my next one. I have a policy towards tardy thread attendance, so guys, get your shit together.

And, Conne - don't you fucking dare bust into a show-tune in the middle of one of my threads.

Weak. Snark level has nothing on SF.

Besides, xxxx is MBA student at Stern, I'm guessing Galloway is not the only asshole he'll have to deal with in school, let alone in the real world.

i've read more imaginative comebacks via readers of the metro (free ny rag) let alone the onion.

get your shit, together. original.

could care less about his response, but the energy used to forward to the entire class lets me think this professor remains bitter about his inability to secure a position with the only real mba program uptown, and nyu's inability to comprehend and invest its' own endowment, ironically managed by some of its incapable graduating body.

I thought the professor struck a nice balance between being a blatant troll and being too soft, especially if he knew he would forward this to the rest of the class. It comes off as being firm and no-nonsense without being a prick to someone he doesn't know.

+1 on the weak snark.

If this is real, NYU should get rid of this guy, what a prick. Completely unprofessional and inexcusable behavior.

Yeah, the student should be kicked out immediately.

^called out for lack of clarity,

Having taught classes, it's amazing what some students will do. And NYU students have the highest self-centered quotient I've ever seen. 80 students in my class... and I hear a weird clicking noise. I can't figure out what it is or where it is coming from. Finally I locate the noise... it's in the front row. I look down from the raised area to see.. somebody clipping their finger nails, with the clippings flying everywhere. Stopped me cold. Student finally looks up and says, "Should I do this later?".

Didn't even think it was that bad. Both had their positions. If I were the student, I would have gone back to the class the next day, just to show him that part of the set of skills that will ensure me future success is not retreating from conflict with my tail between my legs.

i cannot imagine paying stern prices to be taught by a man with a vaguely irish-sounding name. that is the real outrage.

You make the assumption (the same one the student did) that he cares one tiny bit about you. He doesn't. Not really. Why should he? You are one of many students. He doesn't give a damn whether you "show him" anything or not. He's actually started and ran a company. And you...? Are reading books and going to "show him" about how strong you are...
