My biggest wish for the Olympics is that Alex Ovechkin scores the winning goal in the gold-medal hockey game between Russia and Canada, and then jumps into the boards as millions of Canadians weep. I think that result will scar Sid the Kid for life.

Went to Yaletown Saturday at around 7pm and it was a 45 min wait, but for Deadmau I reckon you'd want to get there a couple hours early to be safe.

I am really starting to like snowboarding in the Olympics. When it debuted I felt it wasn't traditional enough. But once I got into Snowboard cross and the half pipe, I been hooked ever since.

I'm not a fan of halfpipe as an olympic event, but snowboard cross and slalom definitely.

I'm up for slalom since it has a parallel in alpine. Half-pipe only half passes with me, because it's mostly just cool.

But Border-cross is just dumb. I loved that last night after what's-her-name fell they said that she had been working so hard for this moment, blah blah blah. She rides a snowboard down a course. It's not nearly as fast as alpine, it isn't nearly as hard as any cross-country skiing event, it's just kinda silly. Hell, I don't even find it exciting.

I used to kind of chuckle at the whole snowboarding thing. I've skied since I was a teenager and thought the boarders were just uncoordinated stoners. (As opposed to me, a coordinated stoner.

But then I tried boarding.
Whoa! Not at all the same kind of thing...

I actually have, thanks. Rode for years. Not a lot; I'm no expert. But I know what it takes to ride. I'm not saying that anyone can jump on a board and compete at the Olympics. Not by any stretch. I'm just saying that there's no comparing boarder cross to alpine skiing or any number of other winter Olympics sports.
