Recent purchases - Part II - Page 3445

yeah was just going to say the same thing... I mean ok coolish pants, but basically khakis with a front pocket and some knee re-reinforcements. Look nice but $550 CAD seriously? I'm not criticizing you for having spent that or whatever you paid, but personally I find around $200-300, any sort of basic item like pants gets into diminishing returns territory pretty quickly. I liked them enough to follow the link too, just er damn, that's way more than I was expecting.

Nonnative is often great but yeah the NA prices are garbage. I mean I get it.

Canada in particular has some really wierd import laws that have nothing to do with logic and much to do with various lobbies.  Anything with synthetics automatically results in a ridiculous tarriff.  And Japanese vendors do insist on sending things often by the most expensive service possible as well.

I was really interested in these:

Which sold out of my size (3 = 43) at Coverchord, for about 43000 Yen - about $400.  At Haven (http://shop.havenshop.ca/products/traveller-trainer-mid-cow-suede-white), they are $666 USD, at which point I am just going to pass and either wait for them to go on sale or pick up a pair of Guidi derbies for pretty much the same price.

Maybe they go on sale, or maybe some son of rich Chinese immgrants studying in Vancouver picks them up (this is a great customer for Roden Gray, Haven, etc...).  It's all good, either way.  At $666, just too rich for my blood.

Dries van Noten Philip pants

Chuck taylor 70 ox

These are pretty much exactly like the Cons x CdG from a couple years back, but without the CdG heart logo. Thicker sole and sturdier canvas than regular Cons. They could be a budget alternative to Ann D low tops for people interested in those.

Finally got around to ordering these. I just couldn't decide between these all blacks or the blue toe version for the longest time.
