i'm a size US 8. i wear 8 in fiorentini + baker, 8 in chucks (which i bought in germany?), in paul smith i wear size 7 (which is a UK size). my lanvin's are both size 7. ive never tried on a 6 nor an 8 though since the 7 seems to fit me perfect.
most places tell you they run large 1.5 sizes. it may be more like 1-1.25
