That set actually has a lot of detail. You can remove the top and see a scale version of the house's actual floor plan. Not saying that fully justifies the price, but it's a little something extra.

What ever happened to building your own **** with legos? Now you pay 5x as much money for a sheet of instructions and a set of pieces that can't be used to do anything else.

+ lots

I have been buying Lego for my children and it is very difficult to buy generic sets or parts -- most of the kits are movie related junk. Fortunately my parents gave me a big box full of my old Lego parts and I supplemented that with generic bricks that I bought online.

Right now they are more at the Lincoln Log stage, but I hope they will gravitate to the Lego soon.

There is a store by me that specializes in legos. I have NO idea how he stays in business though. Not a lot of margin in selling 10 cent pieces of plastic

Dude... I asked for the $100 pirate ship as a kid and totally fucked it up. All the ropes and stuff were so complicated for an 8 year old. So everything eventually went to the spare parts tub and I just played with the pirates

I saw a Lego MindStorm robot wars type arena death match at one E3. It's pretty interesting what MindStorm is capable of.

One guy had a bot called "The Wall" that was a massive Lego brick with nothing but D batteries inside. It would crush other bots into the walls. That little idea drew massive crowds by the 3rd day.

You should make a storybook or a movie with it!

Did you like captain "hook" in particular or pirates in general?
