Because Japanese people don't have a word for passion, so words like 'loyalty' and 'speed' are used - and when they can't express themselves with those words they just write a big number. Japanese culture does not encourage expression of emotion. Just like in Chinese there is no such word as 'original'. I think they just use the word 'geely gee'

So the RX-7 or NSX were totally lacking in passion?

Not a jab, other than the fact that I thought the Hyundai was hideous too. It really does kind of look similar. Maybe more refined... but still too swoopy for my taste.

Tokyo Slim, I think they were referring to the new Hyundai Genesis coupe, not the discontinued Tiburon

and wow, that Geely car is a hilarious imitation of a Rolls, also maybe it's just me but it appears to be approximately the size of a Toyota Corolla, making the imitation even funnier

Why would anyone say that it looks like a car that it doesn't look like? It looks like the Hyundai I posted. I'm not sure why you think it looks like the Genesis. In the looks dept. the new Hyundai Genesis beats the **** out of that Infinity.

I'm not a fan of the Infinite M cars. I know they are a great value, but I just don't like them. Other than the first generation Q45 from way back, I haven't been a fan of their cars, even though I'm a fan of their SUVs.

Well because it does look a little like the Genesis sedan, thus it's name: the Genesis coupe.

I thought it's name was the M56. I think you are confused. The Original car in the OP, the Infinity M56, looks like the old Hyundai Tiburon coupe. It does not look like the Hyundai Genesis, which looks much more like the G-series Infinities. Is that clear?

Gotcha. I disagree that they look alike.... the M56 looks far better.

From the pics the OP posted, they have a very similar swoopy contoured look. I'm not sure what you are looking at, but I definitely see similar design cues. Now it's possible that those are just really awful pictures of the car, but to me, they look like someone just went and refined the (crap) aesthetic of the Hyundai I posted, fit two more doors on it, and updated the wheels and lights a little.

It looks irritatingly similar to one of those terrible four-door coupe designs.

Looks like somebody from Hyundai had a wet dream involving BMW, Merc, and Lexus.

It's even more embarrassing in person.
