New guy here.

I'm Zach. I am 22 and very small
confused.gif
I am about 5'6' and weigh about 113 lbs. My body doesn't process protein properly and my metobolism is through the roof. I have an incredibly hard time shopping. I am very fashion concious and like to look good. I like my clothing to be form fitting.

Jeans are an absolute nightmare. I have found that basically the only jeans that fit me are levi 511 skinny. (but fit more like a straight leg than a skinny.) Pretty much the only store I can buy shirts from is American Apparel. I like their stuff but one can only have so many solid color shirts. When I was in NYC this past summer I also stumbled upon Topman on accident and bought 2 dress shirts that fit me well being XS.

I taught myself to roughly take in tee shirts with my sewing machine. Whenever target has shirts for 2.99 or 3.99 I buy a few and sew them in. While they don't fit totally to my liking they are a heck of a lot better.

I am growing more and more unhappy. I am lacking a lot of confidence with myself. I want to start feeling better. I have tried gaining weight and it just doesn't work. I have 3 protein shakes a day at about 65g each and have not put on a single pound.

Anyway. What are some online stores that I can seek out? I am ready to just go on a shopping spree. I have been searching around and found yesstyle.com but am utterly confused about the sizing. Would their M be more like an US XS?

Thanks!

You have come to the right forum to boost your confidence. These are Olympian proportions on SF. Take a look around.

are you growing more unhappy due to the fact you cannot find proper clothes or because of your stature?

if for the latter, dont.

let me say this, i find it very good looking to be proportionate no matter what your height and/or weight.

i rather be 5'6 but very slim and fit and proportionate and be able to don on xs clothing for a killer look. i would hate to be 6 foot over 200 pounds with an overly huge ass, or an overly huge thighs, or an overly huge shoulders (like everyone here always claim) , or an overly huge gut and chest and cant look decently in a suit or a chic streetwear apparel. and most of us here, are that 6 foot over 200 pounds look in the mc forum with some disproportionate look somewhere about us.

again, let me say, i know this one guy , who is like 5.'5 -5'6 perhaps 120-130 pounds but looks completely awesome in his suits and his tailored looks and slim wears. absolute model look. i envy him. because i cannot (in a larger scale) duplicate that kind of look.

Years ago I knew a guy with the same problem. He found a doctor who put him on predigested protein (it sounds a lot worse than it is), and it allowed him to finally put on some weight. After just a few months he looked great. But I'm confused by your post. If you're not happy with your frame, why do you want clothes that are form fitting?

because clothes that are blousier or a bit bigger optically makes you look even smaller or more disproportionate.

i have a disproportionately large head/ jaw. when i wear a blousy shirt or coat, it makes me look strange. i actually look smaller than i am and shorter than i am. but when i wear form fitted clothes it puts everything in proportion and i look normal

Not a horrible look. I tend to make it work. I just have learned not to buy OTR pants anymore.

But you're right. Proportionality is key. If I could move some of my weight up to my shoulders/chest, things would be easier. Good luck to the OP on finding a good fit.

True. Let me illustrate this (please bear with me):

Exhibit A:

mothra_godzilla_500px.jpg

Godzilla in this photograph looks absolutely puny...I mean, that moth is about to go to town on him. Watch out, Godzilla, you little dork!

But looks can be deceiving...

Exhibit B:

godzilla.jpg

In this summer vacation shot, bereft of comparison points, Godzilla looks fit, relaxed, comfortable. He's been working out and it shows (maybe too many squats, but you know what? That is why-approved.)

But...

Exhibit C:

godzilla1.jpg

Ruh roh. Apparently, Exhibit A was misleading. Godzilla turns out to be friggin' huge!

He's angry, and I think that we all can see why: where the hell is the 'Zilla gonna get a jacket that fits? Neiman's? eHaberdasher? Grrrrr....grrrrrrrr....GRRRRRRRRRR!!

So, the moral is this: just be you. Do not let the moths of life determine how you see yourself.

Zach, you are almost definitely just a hard-gainer like myself. In my teens I was exactly your height and weight. It wasn't until I started really researching weight-lifting and what works that I started to see results. I also have almost no body fat, and the only way I've been able to put on weight is by gaining muscle. I'm not huge, but I'm very happy with the results I've had and feel better too.

If you are serious about getting bigger, not to mention being more healthy and feeling great, check out Scooby's Workshop. He's kind of weird, but he's a godsend to the internet for that topic. His site is free and he started it as a result of all the deceptive claims out there for programs and supplements. It's excellent information on naturally gaining muscle with a healthy nutrition.

Word. If consuming 190g of protein daily on top of other foods does not lift you even a pound from 113, the time has come to reduce your meth intake.

Hahaha Vox (Godzilla post)

Your body cannot store protein, and that much is just going to get **** out almost instantly.

You have to

A.) Work out, EFFECTIVELY with GOOD FORM

B.) Eat 4-6 small meals a day, each with about 15-20g protein

That's about one mouse per meal, which is why it is commonly referred to as the Snake Diet.

Another good diet for gaining weight is pretty much any product from Taco Bell, McDonalds, and the Coca Cola and Frito-Lay family of companies. This is commonly referred to as the American Diet.

Also, switching from meth to beer will help. That's what worked for Kwilky.
