Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables was the first punk album I heard, circa age 12. Fairly sure it stunted my emotional growth in some ways.

Someday I will own The Decline of Western Civilizationon something other than a burned third-generation bootleg

Minor Threat was the soundtrack (albeit a short one) to some of my high school years.

I'm mentally blocking a lot of really, really bad pop-punk and ska-punk that I listened to alongside the great stuff. Time has separated the wheat from the chaff. Still have a soft spot for MxPx though, as they soundtracked my first trip past second base.

Fuck ya, lots of good homegrown punk/hardcore Minor Threat was my soundtrack for many years The Bad Brains Agnostic Front got me into the skinhead scene 1985 One of the best songs to cover live, Negative Approach I was at this show somewhere up front, Uniform Choice... ...which led to finding this clip of Dag Nasty (practically the entire set!!!), also was at this show. Great f'ing band from DC!

I was wondering how this thread got over 5 post before Bad Brains was mentioned. I saw them at the 9:30 club a couple years back. Great show, I got Darrell Jennifer's guitar pic.

Chicago punk is like no other... Naked Raygun, The Effigies, Strike Under - all great.

Good picks Jason - Negative Approach is some of the most intense hardcore ever.

Middle Class out of Santa Ana, CA was always a favorite of mine, they put out the first hardcore single ever "Out of Vogue" which is brilliant.

Also love early Bad Religion, Black Flag, Circle Jerks...takes me back to High School

The scales lean heavily in favour of this side of the pond when it comes to punk, it must be said. You lot only really managed to get it right once, but, boy, did you ever get it right:

Best cover ever?

Marquee Moon, my favorite album:

Flogging Molly. Great live show.

NoMeansNo is Canadian, but they don't get enough props, so I'm mentioning them anyway. I am married to a cigarette butt lying in the gutter!
