I received my Inapt Peacoat yesterday. I ordered a large and it is just too small. I love the aesthetics and fit if it was just a little bigger. I would say a large fits like a small medium. It seems to be ok around the chest but the sleeve holes are too small for me so it is really restricting when moving around. I will be posting it in buying and selling later when I get a chance. It is in the charcoal color which is now sold out. Now its back to what seems like the impossible hunt for a slim fit peacoat.

Yea, that's what we were telling everyone. It's a small slim fit peacoat. It's made fore small and slim people, not just those looking for a slim fit. Japanese stuff like this usually has slim arms, small shoulders and smaller/higher arm holes. If you're a relatively small person for american standards, it works out really well but if you're a normal guy looking for a slimmer fit, you have to make sure all the measurements are ok. I'm telling you guys, i've seen like 3 on revolve without even looking for them.

I was able to get the Japanese font installed, but it still gives me a red error message in Japanese that I cannot read-- and Google won't translate the page. I did everything exactly according to the instructions.

Any idea how to get around this error message? I've tried emailing Rakuten several times with no response.

Thanks!

thanks tcalvin for the reply. i have my browser running in full japansese. here are his instructions:
Sorry for the delay..didnt notice I had a pm...I did reply to the post in the forum. You need to install Japanses fonts. If running XP you can enable this by going to the Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages Tab > Make sure "Install files for East Asian Languages" is checked
the bad news is that i'm still stucked on the ******* first page. ahhh... this is really frustrating

i finally got it done. i just received an email in all japs that looks like a confirmation email. thanks tcalvin for the help.

for those that still need help going through the ordering process. here is the correction on the directions i get from tcalvin:
I was able to reproduce the red error message if I did not type my email address where the guide tells you to fill in "Mail Address"

It is indeed a little odd. "Mail address" needs to be your email address which you must type it again to confirm hence the two text boxes.

You fill in your mailing address where the guide tells you to enter your "Address"

Jeez, someone who can figure out the ordering should just buy a bunch of these and sell them here.

Jason, when is TaT gonna come out with a cool pea coat?

To be honest I have no idea what's going on with your purchase gqcao, but if you do it right they send a confirmation email asking for the date and time you want it delivered (bizarre, I know, but keep in mind it's Japan).

I'd suggest getting someone fluent in Japanese to help you out, sorry.

But I followed the directions on the website exactly and double/triple checked everything to make sure and my order came in fine.

I got it! That's what was causing the error message: I was putting my mailing address where it said "mail address." Thanks for the help guys.

I just ordered the new Inapt "Classic" Tight fit P-Coat.

It looks like a more detailed version of the original.

I ordered a medium though, but from what I have read in this thread, I think I might be screwed. My chest is 35" at complete rest, and inhaling it is 36"

Did I make the right choice with the medium or am I S.O.L.?

I'm a 34 chest and went with a Large which fits good, more like slim fit.

A medium would have been tight fit.

So, if that's what you're shooting for then you're good.

Who cares what your chest is when you inhale, a more accurate measurement would be comparing measurements of tshirts and jackets that fit you well to the measurements posted in this thread and elsewhere. If you're not a xs-s then you'll probably be screwed. It's not just the chest measurements that you have to worry about, the armholes and shoulders are really small too because it's meant for tiny asian people. I'm sure a bunch of styleforum/sufuers made the wrong sizing choice in the past month so you'll probably be able to find some on both sites' markets in the next few weeks. Keep checking. edit: fixed. sorry, lel and constant struggle

Hmm, I may pick up a regular Inapt then. Think it would also be interesting to switch the black buttons out for metal ones, although I don't know where to find good ones.
