Is this creasing normal on my Crockett & Jones?

I've worn these shoes about 5 times and they've always been stored with the trees. They're benchgrades on the 348 last. I used a flash to make the creasing look as harsh as possible. Specifically, my concern is about the 2 crease lines on top and the couple of others on the side.

Look like shoes with a bit of character to me. Just fine, IMO.

Do you REALLY expect to wear shoes and not crease them?

When you walk, do you actually pick up your feet or do you just shuffle like an old geezer? Because that's one way to not crease shoes, just kinda slide/shuffle.

Oh, another way is to just not wear the shoes.

sheesh.

I just didn't know if the multiple creases (particularly on the sides) indicated any problems with fit or what not since they've seen very little use. They feel like they fine, but I was just curious. Obviously I know shoes will crease, but my other shoes have tended to only get one major crease after a few wears, but they're on decidedly less sleek lasts.

Forgot to add also,

true BESPOKE shoes do not crease. I mean, they are made to conform to your exact feet, and there's no creases/wrinkles on your feet, are there?

I like to encase the laces in plastic electrical wire shrink wrap tubing to keep the laces pristine.

I also do like bris and keep the shoeboxes...unlike him, however, I toss the box and lid ahead of me and step into them as I walk forward...this way, the soles forever stay in the box.

I tried walking with the shoes still in shoe bags, but as it turns out, that is untidy.

Vox, you think of everything

OP: Wholecut shoes tend to crease a lot, iirc.

Starting this thread was worth it just for that mental image

. However, you presume I don't walk with box and lid leading the way.

That explains it, these are my only pair of plain toe shoes. Posting these pics made me notice how sloppy my last polishing job was. I need to get the wax out of the seams.

Hah! Don't worry...those are handsome shoes. Enjoy the process of wearing them in, which will only improve them further.

Are you using the shoes correctly? Didn't you find the instruction book in the shoe box? Kind of sloppy on C&Js part. Shoot them an email and they'll send it out to you. I've found Plal never includes it. That's probably how they keep the cost down and save on shipping.

Not much you can do about creases if you wear the shoes.

Good looking shoes though.
