No correction, if you want a good car buy a Mercedes
If you want a status car that shows you have money and like cars buy an Aston Martin.
Seems like every man and his dog has a porsche, even though I would kill for one of those vintage 911's

Get a V12 Vantage and have more cylinders than both of those cars. In all seriousness, it's not just about an engine, if it was than everyone would own a ZR-1 'vette and Ferrari et al. would be out of business.

Also, have you considered the option packages on these cars? Ferraris can shoot up in price with just one or two options.

GT2 for me, ferraris are nice but trumped performance wise. Lambo is a poser car.

This should be DT'd anyway.

The only luxury/sports car I would consider buying is the Maserati Grantourismo.

All of the cars were two yrs old or less except the GT. NO IMHO the F430 was one of the more drivable cars. Meaning comfortable yet ferocious when called upon. I said drove not owned so what do I know. Lastly, if I was to buy an exotic sports car in todays market I would buy the Audi R8. I have heard it is the most comfortable exotic sports car on the market. I have not driven.

The GT is my dream car...I've always wondered about the experience.

I saw a black R8 today on the highway and it looked very sexy. I would buy the R8 in a heartbeat if I had the money.

I like the 928s.

The 911 comment is right on the money but don't rule out the Cayman either. It actually handles better than the 911 due to the mid-engine placement.

Since this thread was asking about Ferrari and Lambo im going to keep all other makes out of my response.

Its pretty obvious that Ferrari is the drivers car of choice. Lambos are more for posers and chavs with more money then sense. Ferrari has the racing history/pedigree dating back to the 50's and the wins to back it up. Lamborghini as far as i can recall has never been involved in racing much. The only reason Lamborghini exists is because the owner was turned down by Ferrari and so he started his own company to try and compete.

Its also not all about horse power. There are plenty of cars with over 550 Hp that do nothing but smoke tire and drive in a straight line.

I don't think price has much of anything to do with it. When you can afford a car of that calibre a couple thousand isn't going to make a difference in your choice. I like driving/racing and can appreciate the Ferrari much more then a Lamborghini. Not saying i would turn one away if given the chance to have one.
