I've done this, and I always wear jeans.  I also have a daughter under 7, and one under 5.  There are also a lot of good looking technical pants, if that's your thing.  I mean, if you want to wear sweats, it's not like I am going to pants you in the middle of the terminal, or point and scream at you, or even give you a second look, and it's not "unacceptable" in any way.  But I do think that it looks dumb.

I'm wearing the Ervell "track pants".
Pretty much a chino/jogger hybrid with a "tech fabric". I just feel like people take the idea too far.
There are much worse things to deal with when taking a long flight than what some person you don't even know is wearing (ie/ heavy cologne/perfume, loud talkers, sleep deprivation, dudes watching porn on their laptops...)

Is there a thread about people's living spaces/furnishings/design? Official SF House Tour Thread?

  • OccultaVexillum  I don't think you're gonna convince people like me who think that wearing sweatpants in public looks silly, but who cares? Just wear what you wanna wear

1. They keep their deep-fryer under their coffee table, because they deep fry in the living room.

2. Their reading list develops out of an insistence that the books be bound mono-chromatically, because they've learned good books are grey books.

3. The like to transport their books, so they rest them in a metal pail they'll transport them later in.

4. They once had a plant, but it died, so a memento of it sits on their books. They remove the memento of their dead plant when they wish to read.

5. One rug just isn't protective enough.

6. They like Roman pottery, but not the real Roman pottery. They prefer the postmodern ones made in China for forty dollars each, which can be aggressively aged the archaeological equivalent of 2,000 years in 20 minutes.

7. Real eggs spoil, but fake ones don't, so they keep some on their coffee table in case Easter shows up early.

If you can find interiors which hint of disingenuous arrangement, then you've found "decorated" interiors, and thus bad ones. The ones I post are overwhelmingly indicative of honest living, to the best of my perception. Yours isn't one of them.

I know a vegetarian viet girl. Her dad complains everytime they go out to eat at a viet restaurant saying that it tastes like shit. Seriously tho there is no good veg pho. I firmly believe you shouldn't even be allowed to make it

I haven't handled any of their stuff in person -- and they're not really a "heritage" brand per se -- but some of their knitwear and outerwear looks nice. A couple of the knits also kinda sorta look like something a fisherman would wear.

also, there's Visvim cowichans I guess, made by Hiroki's grandmother or something (0).
Thanks! Will keep an eye out for Rainmaker and Minotaur.

Fair point. Most JP brands are too short or too narrow in the shoulders for me.

Ah, yes, I do have a knit from SEH Kelly! It's perhaps the nicest I own. It's also the warmest (more so than even Inverallan), and I can't really imagine needing to own more than one in this lifetime. The Albam knits do look nice. I think we might have a winner...

I'm going to be real: if my decor represented honest living on my behalf, it would be an empty room, messy bed, pants all over the floor (fuck pants), some empty pizza boxes, and a half-empty carton of month old Yoohoo as the centerpiece. There is no better place to lie to yourself and others than in your own home.

@thatoneguy started something I think. It may have been a general "look at this" thread or something but it may have been an intimate look into SF members' masturbation dungeons and yaoi collections, I can't remember.
