Made for the same clientele as designer axes.

I'm yet to see someone in a veilance, who looks like they know how an axe works.

I think the target demographic for stuff like that, is people who want the tech, but don't want to look like they are about to go on a hike with the Boy Scouts, like most other outdoor brands.

It works fine. But it is not any better than actual performance gear for performance. In some cases, it's a bit worse. You want zippered pockets on softshell pants, for example, and in most cases, a bit too long is def better than even 1/2" too short. But the stuff is fine, and generally well designed.

I've tried some ami, not bad but as mentioned the basics were nothing stellar while the outerwear seemed on par with mid-level designer stuff

I want to try their suiting. Looks like at least a decent value at under 1k for a whole suit

CPs or GATs for traveling? both white w/ gumsoles (+ birdshit for GATs)

CPs are 3 yrs old, generally indestructible and I don't care about beating them up

GATs are brand new, way cooler, but I'm a bit reluctant to spend 2.5 months in them after owning them for less than a week

CPs

Where are ya traveling? I wear my New Balances or hiking boots when I'm traveling, don't wanna trash nice white sneakers. Then again, you might be cooler than me or just traveling to cleaner places

Europe, so I won't be trekking through the wilderness or anything

Think I'll bring the CPs

Haha that's great. At first I was talking to my friends trying to figure out where I might know you from, but then it hit me and I had to explain "oh my god I know that guy because he posts on a fashion forum." Surreal moment all around. If I had known I was going to see an SF user that day I would've worn something swaggier, but day to day its just too hot for fashionz. Glad you liked the "elf boots" though.

My travel shoes are almost exclusively Guidi and sandals. Sneakers wear out too fast while traveling IMO. Those two can be resoled pretty easily and don't look too bad beat up.

I know that, but like I said people who buy them are people who care about design, but still want/need performance, I would love for brands like haglofs to make a line focused on city wear and not skiing/trekking etc.

At least for me NB's are less warm than gats and a lot more comfortable when walking a lot, plus I don't care what happens to them, my last pair went through hell and back.

Anyone here like Andrea Pompilio?

The stuff is very well made and very fun to wear. Though it's a bit flashy.

Don't own any outerwear but got a chance to handle it on their Milan studio and everything was very well made.
