+1. I think that if they were to do those again, they should take a long hard look at why the MMM sneakers (the closest analogy to the Italian military) are so successful.
My problem with the Achilles (especially the lows) is that it is nearly too simple, and that if there is any deformation of the shape at all, the shoe end up just looking like a blob of a single color, since there is no contrasting sole, etc... I liked the Achilles in the SS09 perforated for just that reason, (contrasting sole, contrasting areas of perforated and smooth leather) and the perforated version in general, over the original. That said, not sure about the wool Achilles. Or maybe, it could have been a cleaner flannel finish. Still, may pick up on sale, depending on how they look on.Hmm. Is that a wool achilles in the first pic? Interesting, but I'd rather do the new Sperry Wool shoes for this season. The achilles needs to remain in the leather variety in my opinion, that's where it's at its best.
