I don't want to get into the country of origin argument, but I had a simple question for someone who is a fan of both Engineered Garments and RRL. How is the quality of RRL work shirts (ie: http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/...&ab=ln_men_cs2_sale&view=99&parentPage=family) compared to the Engineered Garments workshirt? I love some of the details of the RRL ones, but figured I'd ask anyone who has first hand experience with both of them.

RRL work shirts' quality are a bit all over the place. Their beefy woven flannels are on par or just a notch down from EG, but some of their other flannels are more jcrew level.

I haven't seen that shirt in person but the one - off design shirts like that (big bear etc) are damn nice and well made.

Thanks. Are they made in China still, or is it Japan for some of the shirting?

Almost all china or similar I think.

Yeah 95% China I think. I really dig a lot of the flannel designs and fabric, but find that the sizing can be so all over the place. A lot of the time I find the shirts are just too long to wear un-tucked. I think I may have to go to a tailor and get a few of them shortened. Generally the construction is pretty solid and better than the flimsy things you get at J Crew.

Ive started to have the shirts shortened too. I picked up a western from this past winter and it was 3 or 4 inches longer than any other RRL western i own

FYI that linked shirt is not selvedge, despite what the website says.
