Looking for some all in ones, specifically with good scannng and copying (faxing is a bonus) ability.
This is for home use and the budget is around the $300 mark.
Initially the reviews I have read, indicate that Canon's software is a ***** (and we are running both Mac and PC).

Thanks

Not a fan. When one thing goes down, the whole thing tends to go down.

I asked about printers specifically on macrumors.com, and all the answers backed Hewlett-Packard and many, from experience, vetoed Brother.

Now I have an HP 4100TN, and it seems like a reliable, powerful, and robust workhorse.

Aware that it is bad form to answer your question with a question: do you want laser or inkjet; are you willing to buy second-hand (e.g. ebay); would you be willing to go for separate machines for the separate functions in the light of the fact that an all-in-one is a jack of all trades but master of none?

I've been using an Epson RX510 with an imac and its been okay. The scanner works well and I used it to scan in some important slides and photos. The photo output is good too.
