Friend and I are starting to play squash. This probably won't be a long term investment so I don't want to spend a ton. If I want to spend <$50, are my only options second-hand rackets at places like ebay or playitagain sports? Any recommendations?

Just pick up a cheap one from Dick's. I started out with a quality fiber frame racquet for racquetball, then I shattered it by hitting it into a wall. Now I'm using a $25 metal racquet.

Agreed. Drop by any sports store and grab the cheapest one. At your level, it won't affect your game, and if you're only playing once every two or so weeks, it will last you a reasonable amount of time.

I'd get something relatively cheap for now. If you have time, look up something like a Wilson hypercarbon up on ebay. They were like the big thing to have in the early 00s and you can probably get one for like $5 now.

But yea, until you get a little more serious, I wouldn't buy anything new. Although, I think top rackets are still only around $150.
