I hope no one else has already answered this question. What do you mean one shoe? Is that one pair of shoes or a single shoe. Sorry, I just don't get that one.

this means that a man should only wear one type of shoe and have many spares of the same exact shoe.

1. Buy the best you can afford, even if it's one very good suit over three ordinary ones, and gradually build that way.
2. Make sure the fit is as good as it can be.
3. The fewer patterns and colours involved in a single outfit the more elegant it will be.

PS: avoid trends, like the briefly popular peak lapel single breasted suit or ultra slim fits currently in vogue.

1. SoCal x Vox
2. If RLPL x 80's Moonboots don't work, try wearing something black.
3. When in doubt, don't wear black.

But ... they said it was a "black tie beach wedding" ... and I already bought new Kenneth Cole shoes to wear!

Much like a good location in real estate, the key in style is....

1) Fit
2) Fit
and
3) Fit

Nothing beats a suit that fits well. A proper fit is something you don't need tons money to master either. Any level of suit can be tailored for a better fit. The man wearing the OTR $1,700 Zegna suit that is too tight in the shoulders and wide at the waist looks every other guy out there in a Men's Wearhouse Suit.

The man with the $500 suit and $100 bucks in tailoring looks like the guy in the $1,700 suit should look.

This is usually learned the hard way by most people. But once you get burned on a bad purchase or two, you will make sure its better in the future.

I've learned that you really don't learn anything here by searching (for the most part), you need more time reading to sift through the crap and then form your own opinion.
